Why do so many software projects fail? 🤔

Often, development starts too quickly, without fully understanding the process. That’s what happened to Molthoff Fleetmanagement. Their first attempt at custom software didn’t deliver.

At Scopisto, we take a different approach. Before building anything, we map out how the work actually happens and what should be improved ⚙️

For this project, that means going from 2.6 FTE to 1 FTE. Not by replacing people, but by reducing repetitive manual work. So teams can spend more time on analysis, decision-making, and work that actually adds value 💡

Do you know what we work on at Scopisto? 💡

After mapping the process, the next step is clear. The client was working with data from multiple sources leasing companies, fuel cards, and other providers. All of it had to be collected, matched, and turned into reports. Mostly done manually in Excel.

That setup works up to a point. But with more clients, it becomes slow, hard to manage, and error-prone. So instead of adding another tool, we designed a system that:

🔗 brings all data into one place
🔄 connects and structures it automatically
📈 generates consistent reports

The focus was not on adding features, but on making the core process faster and more reliable. That’s how we move from manual operations to something that can scale 📈

Do you know what we work on at Scopisto? 👇

A fleet management company was running most of its operations in Excel 📊 That worked at the beginning, but as the number of clients grew, so did the complexity.

More data, more manual work, more time spent on reporting ⏳
They had already tried building custom software once.

It didn’t work out and didn’t match their real needs.
So this time, we didn’t start with development.

We started by understanding:
– how the processes actually work 🔍
– where time is lost ⏱️
– what can be improved ⚙️

That’s how our teams approach software.
