Don't miss Part 1 of the new DHIS2 Cancer Registry Toolkit Launch: https://buff.ly/fwykZK1

🗓️ 24 March, 14:00 CET

In this launch webinar, we will first introduce the use case for cancer registry data in DHIS2, and then present a generic DHIS2 Tracker program for cancer registries aligned with the CanReg5 data model. The overall goal is to offer a scalable, modular, and standardized DHIS2 Tracker program that health authorities can adapt and deploy for sub-national cancer registration, to complement or extend existing CanReg5 implementations.

We will discuss:

📍Experiences with DHIS2 cancer registries deployed in countries such as Rwanda, Maldives, Jamaica, Chile, and Zimbabwe.
📍Design and key features of the toolkit’s generic DHIS2 Tracker program for cancer registries, developed in collaboration with WHO IARC and following the global standard CanReg5 data model
📍Standardized and modular data validations to ensure high quality cancer data
📍Functionalities of the toolkit’s DHIS2-CanReg5 export app, which enables structured data export for advanced analysis and reporting in CanReg5.
📍Guidance on how countries can get started with the Toolkit or request implementation support.

Part 1 is ideally suited for public health professionals, including cancer program leadership, PBCR data managers, and health information architects. A follow-up webinar for system administrators and IT staff (Part 2) will go into the technical details of installing and adapting the Cancer Toolkit metadata and app.

Join us at the webinar to explore real‑world country experiences, learn about the toolkit’s features and DHIS2‑CanReg5 export app, and find out how your country can get started with implementing the toolkit.

Zimbabwe ensures 95% facility reporting and reduces reporting delays by 83%:
https://buff.ly/IfC7CiW

By 2023, 95% of Zimbabwe's health facilities were submitting health data electronically through DHIS2, which reduced reporting delays from an average of 90 days to fewer than 15.

A new case study from the University of Zambia highlights real gains in Zimbabwe's digital transformation, as it shifts from paper-based reporting to a national DHIS2-based data repository. It also flags challenges common across low- and middle-income countries, including infrastructure gaps, interoperability needs, local capacity and donor dependency—highlighting the need for sustainable financing and long-term investment in local capacity.

"The systemic provision and roll-out of DHIS2 together with digital intervention for specific diseases have increased tremendously the area of data timeliness, patient tracking, and averts of evidence-based decision-making for urban and fairly well-resourced districts; systemic challenges, including uneven technological infrastructure, inter-fragmented non-interoperable systems, limited human resource capability, and heavy dependence on donor funding, still impede state expansion and equitable adoption."

Happening tomorrow! Part 3 of our DHIS2 Implementation Insights webinar series: https://buff.ly/iqyx6bL

🗓️ 19 March, 14:00 CET

In this webinar, we will walk you through the data quality (DQ) workbench, an external, python-based tool that allows you to supplement the built-in data quality features within DHIS2.

The DQ Workbench can track errors, allowing you to visualize progress and trends over time directly within Dashboards and the Data Visualizer app.

Outlier Monitoring: Summarize and store outlier counts as data values to track data consistency over time.
