In this session, weโ€™ll review the top 5 reports from the Procurement Data Analytics Challenge.

Each submission takes a different approach to the same dataset visualization in Power BI. Seeing these reports side by side is a good way to understand what choices matter when building a report.

This session will be joined by guest speaker Tim Osborn, Senior Power BI Developer and CPA, who will share his perspective while we go through each report.

If youโ€™re participating in the challenge, this is a chance to see how others approached it. If not, itโ€™s still a useful session for picking up practical ideas you can apply to your own Power BI reports.

Three improvements that Power BI report builders have been asking for:

๐Ÿ”น No more overlapping labels in Waterfall PRO. Threshold and category labels now automatically move apart. Manual control is also available if you need it.

๐Ÿ”น A new label format for waterfall change thresholds. You can now show "-$20, -40%" instead of "-$20 (-40%)" for teams where parentheses have a specific meaning.

๐Ÿ”น The Series Total row in tooltips can now be styled separately. Custom background, font, and size, independent from the rest of the tooltip. Works in Timeline PRO, TimeSeries PRO, Combo Bar PRO, Combo PRO, and Line PRO.

Small changes, real difference.

๐Ÿ”ฎ Next up: organizational hierarchy layout for Graph PRO, with tree structures, reporting lines, and custom node images.
