It's a successful launch! 🚀

O3b mPOWER satellites 11, 12 and 13 launched today aboard SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 2:49 pm local time. 🛰️🛰️🛰️

Once operational, the three satellites will strengthen SES’s MEO network capabilities, adding capacity, resiliency and flexibility for customers who rely on high-performance connectivity across enterprise, government, telecom, mobility and other critical markets.

NEWS: SES and Airbus partner to establish an optical ground station for EAGLE-1 in the Netherlands. 🛰️

SES, Airbus Netherlands and the Municipality of Noordwijk have signed a ground lease agreement for a dedicated optical ground station at the NL Space Campus. The facility will serve as the primary ground connection for the EAGLE-1 system, enabling the secure transmission of quantum-safe keys via advanced laser communications technology.

As part of Europe's first end-to-end quantum key distribution ( ) satellite demonstration system, the station will play an important role in delivering next-generation cybersecurity solutions. Through a partnership with ESA - European Space Agency and European Commission, EAGLE-1 marks an important step toward building highly secure communications infrastructure in the future.

Access to secure satellite communications is fundamental for governments and nations’ security initiatives, strategic autonomy and collective defense efforts. As demand for secure multi-orbit, multi-frequency communications capabilities has been growing, we have been innovating and bringing advantages of the key orbits to support governments in their most demanding missions.

During the visit of the Minister of Defense of Austria Klaudia Tanner to Luxembourg, we had the pleasure of presenting the latest developments that are set to bring governmental communications to a new level: GovSat’s upcoming GovSat-2, and out multi-orbit network of the future with the medium earth orbit at the core of it.

Constant dialogue with nation’s defense decision-makers is critical for developing and implementing space innovations in a timely manner. Thank you to the Minister Tanner and Luxembourg’s Defense Minister Yuriko Backes for visiting our Betzdorf campus, and for the interesting exchanges with our CEO Adel Al-Saleh, and the expert team including Philippe Glaesener and Patrick Biewer.
