From 15–19 September, NRD Companies will be in Accra, Ghana, for the West African Tax Administration Forum - WATAF 2026.

Lithuania and Palestine continue practical knowledge exchange on AI and digital government

As part of Lithuania's continued support to GovTech Lab Palestine, two knowledge-transfer sessions have brought together the Palestinian Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Economy and representatives of Palestinian public institutions to explore how Artificial Intelligence can be applied in government effectively and responsibly.

These knowledge-transfer activities form part of a Republic of Lithuania development cooperation initiative, funded through the Lithuanian Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Programme and implemented through the Lietuvos biuras Ramaloje/Lithuanian Representative Office in Ramallah, part Užsienio reikalų ministerija. NRD Companies serves as the project implementer in close cooperation with MTDE Palestine.

The first session, Artificial Intelligence in Digital Government, explored how governments are using AI today, emerging public-sector applications, institutional readiness and the opportunities and risks associated with AI adoption.

Building on the questions and interest raised by participants, the second session, AI in Government: From Opportunity to Responsible Use, focused on the practical foundations needed for responsible adoption, including:
• data governance, privacy and the responsible use of sensitive information;
• human oversight and public-sector accountability;
• institutional readiness for AI adoption;
• responsible procurement, monitoring and governance of AI solutions.

The sessions also created space for practical discussion between Lithuanian experts and Palestinian public institutions on real questions facing governments as they explore AI, from protecting sensitive data to determining where AI can create meaningful public value.

By sharing Lithuania's experience in digital government, GovTech and responsible technology adoption, the initiative supports stronger institutional capacity and informed experimentation with emerging technologies in Palestine.

What does it take for a digital government platform to stay relevant years after it goes live?

Not just technology. People who know how to use it, maintain it, and take ownership of it.

During our recent mission to Seychelles, the NRD Companies team, together with our local partner Space95, worked with the Seychelles Investment Board (SIB) and representatives from government institutions to prepare them for the next stage of the country's new Investment Portal.

The portal introduces a shared ownership approach. While SIB will oversee most of the platform, individual Ministries, Departments and Agencies will manage the information related to their own services. This means investors will have access to accurate, up-to-date information directly from the institutions responsible for it.

Our joint training sessions combined hands-on platform demonstrations, user acceptance testing, and practical guidance to help future content owners confidently manage their part of the portal from day one.

A big thank you to everyone who contributed to the discussions and shared valuable insights throughout the sessions. Building sustainable digital government solutions is always a team effort. 🤝

Lithuania continues its support for public sector innovation and digital transformation in Palestine.

A new phase of the Republic of Lithuania's development cooperation initiative supporting GovTech Lab Palestine has officially begun.

Funded through the Lithuanian Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Programme and implemented through the Lietuvos biuras Ramaloje/Lithuanian Representative Office in Ramallah, the initiative is being delivered by NRD Companies in close cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Economy.

Building on the strategic groundwork established during the previous phase, Lithuanian experts will support public institutions in developing the first GovTech challenges while sharing practical experience with their Palestinian counterparts through workshops on:
• AI applications in digital government;
• designing digital public services for greater impact;
• GovTech prototyping and innovation programmes;
• change management in digital government transformation.

Through Lithuania's development cooperation, the initiative contributes to stronger public sector innovation, closer collaboration with the local innovation ecosystem, and more effective, citizen-centred digital services. 🤝

Smarter ticketing. Simpler operations. Better journeys. 🚍

Kautra, one of Lithuania's largest passenger transport companies, has introduced a new onboard ticketing system developed by NRD Companies.

The tablet-based mobile POS combines ticket sales, card payments, virtual fiscalization, and onboard management in a single device - helping drivers work more efficiently while making boarding faster and more convenient for passengers.

It also ensures compliance with Lithuania's latest fiscal requirements, with all onboard ticket sales automatically reported to the i.EKA system in real time.

This project reflects our approach to digital transformation: delivering technology that not only meets regulatory requirements but also improves everyday operations for transport operators and the people they serve.
