We recently welcomed Adrijus Jusas to NRD Companies as our new Registry Practice Director, bringing valuable first-hand experience in leading and modernizing a national registry institution.

Adrijus spent seven years at Lithuania’s Centre of Registers, including four years as Director of Strategic Development and three years as CEO. During this time, the institution managed 10 national registers and more than 300 services, covering areas such as real property, population and business entities.

His experience spans digitalizing services, new pricing models, registry consolidation, open data, new data services, analytics and experimenting with AI to redesign processes.

📍 Adrijus is currently in Belize, visiting our clients and sharing his expertise and exchange perspectives on registry-related matters.

His hands-on institutional experience, combined with NRD Companies’ expertise in digital government and technology transformation, strengthens our ability to support registry authorities in addressing both the strategic and technological aspects of modernization.

Strengthening Lithuania–Namibia cooperation through digital transformation 🌐

Next week, NRD Companies will join the 9th National ICT Summit 2026 in Ongwediva, Namibia, as a Platinum Sponsor.

Our CEO Mindaugas Glodas will represent NRD Companies, while H.E. Rasa Jankauskaite, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania accredited to Namibia, will join the mission to advance the broader Lithuania–Namibia dialogue and opportunities for cooperation in digital transformation.

The visit will include bilateral engagements with Namibian government institutions and public-sector leaders, providing an opportunity to exchange experience on building resilient, sovereign and inclusive digital government.

The discussions will cover areas including Digital Public Infrastructure, digital identity and registries, modern tax administration and e-invoicing, AI and data governance, interoperability, cybersecurity and citizen-centric digital services.

Mindaugas Glodas will also participate in the Summit's High-Level Fireside Chat – “Digital Pathways to Prosperity: Practical Investment and Collaboration” – alongside Hon. Emma Theofelus, Minister of Ministry of Information and Communication Technology - Republic of Namibia, diplomatic representatives and international leaders.

Lithuania's own digital transformation provides valuable experience for international dialogue. We look forward to contributing NRD Companies' practical perspective from more than 30 years of implementing GovTech solutions internationally – and, importantly, to listening to Namibia's priorities and exploring where Lithuanian expertise can contribute.

West African Tax Administration Forum - WATAF 2026 in Accra brought together tax administrations, policymakers and development partners for five days of dialogue on the future of revenue mobilization in West Africa.

Across the conference, discussions focused on stronger regional cooperation, inclusive tax systems, digital transformation and data-driven approaches to tax administration.

For NRD Companies, the week included contributing to the Spotlights Session and discussions on Domestic Revenue Mobilization, exchanging experience with regional tax leaders, and seeing our client, the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority - ZIMRA, share its own modernization journey on stage.

Our sincere thanks to the Ghana Revenue Authority and Commissioner-General Anthony K. Sarpong for hosting the event, as well as WATAF Executive Secretary Jules TAPSOBA, WATAF Chairman Talato Eliane Djiguemdé-Ouédraogo, and the entire WATAF organising committee for creating a strong platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange and collaboration across the region.

What does it take for AI to deliver real value in tax administration? Sufficient and reliable data📍

At West African Tax Administration Forum - WATAF 2026 in Accra, our client, the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority - ZIMRA, took the stage to share its experience and good practices in tax administration.

Mr. Mathias Chinanayi, Head of Technical Services for Domestic Taxes at ZIMRA, spoke about the role AI can play in the future of tax administration and the foundation needed to make it work.

Over the last 2 years, ZIMRA has registered over 25 000 taxpayers to the system and is collecting over 20 000 000 invoices monthly. This high-quality information establishes a strong foundation for compliance control and AI-driven decision making.

In H1 2026 alone, ZIMRA initiated 42 audit cases based on information in its FDMS system, resulting in over 2.7 Million USD in additional tax revenue collected.

Through e-invoicing, ZIMRA has built a strong base of fiscal data and is now well positioned to explore how AI can support the detection of tax evasion and fraud.

With Mr. Jeremiah Makumba leading the project alongside the ZIMRA management team, ZIMRA’s experience demonstrates how investment in digital tax systems can build the foundation for more advanced, data-driven capabilities.

Lithuania and Palestine continue practical knowledge exchange on AI and digital government

As part of Lithuania's continued support to GovTech Lab Palestine, two knowledge-transfer sessions have brought together the Palestinian Ministry of Telecommunications and Digital Economy and representatives of Palestinian public institutions to explore how Artificial Intelligence can be applied in government effectively and responsibly.

These knowledge-transfer activities form part of a Republic of Lithuania development cooperation initiative, funded through the Lithuanian Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Programme and implemented through the Lietuvos biuras Ramaloje/Lithuanian Representative Office in Ramallah, part Užsienio reikalų ministerija. NRD Companies serves as the project implementer in close cooperation with MTDE Palestine.

The first session, Artificial Intelligence in Digital Government, explored how governments are using AI today, emerging public-sector applications, institutional readiness and the opportunities and risks associated with AI adoption.

Building on the questions and interest raised by participants, the second session, AI in Government: From Opportunity to Responsible Use, focused on the practical foundations needed for responsible adoption, including:
• data governance, privacy and the responsible use of sensitive information;
• human oversight and public-sector accountability;
• institutional readiness for AI adoption;
• responsible procurement, monitoring and governance of AI solutions.

The sessions also created space for practical discussion between Lithuanian experts and Palestinian public institutions on real questions facing governments as they explore AI, from protecting sensitive data to determining where AI can create meaningful public value.

By sharing Lithuania's experience in digital government, GovTech and responsible technology adoption, the initiative supports stronger institutional capacity and informed experimentation with emerging technologies in Palestine.

ViDA is changing VAT reporting across the EU - is your tax administration ready?

With structured e-invoicing becoming the foundation and cross-border reporting accelerating from 1 July 2030, VAT reporting is moving towards a continuous flow of structured transaction data.
