Getting out of the office and into the trees 🌳

Recently, our team visited "Uno Parks" for an afternoon of climbing, fresh air, and outdoor challenges. It was a great opportunity to step away from our screens, clear our minds, and get moving together.

Taking time for activities like these helps us recharge, strengthen team connections, and return with fresh energy and new perspectives.

A fun day, plenty of laughs, and a few challenges conquered along the way. Looking forward to the next team adventure! 💪

Continuing our Tech Lunch series, where we share ideas, tools, and things we’re genuinely excited about.

This time, we explored .NET Aspire - a new approach to building distributed applications with less friction between development and operations.

What stood out most: Aspire brings everything closer to the developer. You define services and dependencies in C #, get built-in service discovery, and have observability (logs, metrics, traces) out of the box.

It also includes a central dashboard for real-time monitoring and simplifies deployment with Azure or Docker Compose.

💡The takeaway? Less time wiring things together, more time focusing on application logic.

Swapped keyboards for targets and had a great time together 🎯

Our Spring Team Building brought friendly competition, sharp shots, surprise sharpshooters, and well-deserved awards. After the tournament, we continued the evening with great food at the hunters’ restaurant, a beer tasting tour, and even better conversations along the way.

Moments like these remind us that strong teams are built not only through projects and deadlines, but also through shared experiences, laughs, and time spent together.

🎤 This time in our Open Mic spotlight: Emilija!

I think I gave the recruiter a mini heart attack during my first interview at Toughlex.

Halfway through the interview for a QA position, I just had to be honest: 'I’m not really interested in being a QA anymore. I want to be a Business Analyst.'
The silence that followed was priceless. But instead of ending the call, the team actually listened. They looked past my CV and realized that I could be a fit-just in a different role.
Fast forward to the third interview, where I met my future manager. Even though there were more experienced candidates on paper, we just 'clicked.' She chose to trust my potential over a list of past titles.

How sure was she? I received the job offer just 15 minutes after we finished the call.

Almost a year later, I’m still so glad I decided to be honest instead of playing it safe. Huge thanks to the team and my manager for seeing the person, not just the job description. Cheers to taking risks!

Every two weeks, we host a Tech Lunch - a casual break to share ideas, tools, and things we’re genuinely excited about. Thought we’d start bringing some of these conversations here as well.

This time, we focused on Claude Code - an AI assistant that runs in the terminal, understands the entire codebase, suggests changes, helps with testing, and even identifies potential issues.

One key takeaway from the discussion: it’s not about replacing developers. Instead, it acts more like a collaborator - offering suggestions while leaving the final decision in human hands.

💡Its biggest strength lies in handling repetitive tasks, allowing developers to spend more time on complex problem-solving.
