❓“We want to move to the cloud, but what about security?”

That’s one of the most common questions we hear from manufacturing and industrial companies.
The benefits of cloud are clear: scalability, flexibility, and faster change. But security concerns often stop the conversation before it really starts.

In this short video, Aurimas Černiakovas, Head of Cybersecurity at Centric IT Solutions Lithuania, addresses a risky assumption we see again and again:

💡“We won’t be a target. We’re not that digital.”

Companies believe cybercrime targets modern, highly digital workplaces. In reality, attackers go where money moves, most often straight to the finance department. Security is not about being modern. It’s about being prepared.

Cybersecurity is still seen as a cost. Until it becomes a loss measured in millions.

Aurimas Černiakovas, cybersecurity expert at Centric IT Solutions Lithuania, highlights a reality we encounter far too often: Lithuanian businesses, especially SMEs, continue to underestimate cyber risks – not due to a lack of attacks, but because fundamental security practices are often overlooked.

What stands out is that the biggest risks rarely come from advanced attacks, but from everyday decisions that go unquestioned:

🟢 Legacy systems kept “because they still work”
🟢 Access to critical data granted too broadly
🟢 Little clarity on what systems are actually in use and who owns them
🟢 Slow or uncertain reaction when something goes wrong

These issues tend to accumulate quietly – until a single incident exposes how fragile operations really are. And while public attention often goes to large enterprises, smaller organizations are just as attractive when they’re easier to breach.

Cybersecurity is as much about organizational discipline as it is about technology – clear ownership, proactive risk management, and consistent practices determine resilience. Even small improvements in basic practices can prevent major losses.

Manufacturers in Lithuania are facing greater productivity pressures than ever, and they’re not alone.

A 2024 study in Technological Forecasting & Social Change shows that manufacturers across Europe delay digitalisation not because they don’t see value, but because the path to ROI feels uncertain and investments appear larger than necessary.

The research highlights three systemic barriers:

✔️ Unclear business cases. Companies struggle to quantify ROI even when benefits are measurable.
✔️ Overestimation of required investment. Many assume that meaningful digitalisation requires replacing existing equipment.
✔️ Underuse of existing data. Although manufacturers collect large volumes of operational data, most of it remains disconnected or unused.

One of our clients planned to replace its entire production line to monitor production data. Instead, we connected IoT solutions to existing equipment, achieving the same result at a fraction of the cost. The whole client story is in the video below 👇

The highest returns from digitalisation come from targeted, incremental steps, not large, high-risk transformations.

What actually works?
✅ Define the goal, not the tool.
✅ Evaluate alternatives before committing to heavy investments.
✅ Measure ROI from the first step, not the last.

Digitalisation becomes a risk only when it is not manageable.

“Conscious Unbossing”: Why Gen Z Is Choosing Not to Lead 👥

A growing trend is reshaping the future of leadership: many Gen Z professionals are intentionally stepping away from traditional managerial roles. But why?

Julija Spundzevičė, Strategic HR Business Partner at Centric I.T. Solutions Lithuania and mentor on idialogue, dives deep into this shift – a phenomenon now known as “Conscious Unbossing.”

Rather than chasing titles, Gen Z prioritizes balance, psychological safety, meaningful work and autonomy. Many prefer to grow as experts rather than take on roles overloaded with administrative tasks, conflicting expectations and emotional pressure – challenges especially felt by middle management.

But this doesn’t mean leadership is disappearing. It’s transforming. Today, it’s less about holding a title and more about inspiring, connecting and enabling teams to succeed.

Julija emphasizes that organizations can’t ignore this shift: to develop the leaders of tomorrow, roles must be human-centered, balanced and empowering. Companies that foster collaboration, autonomy and trust will be the ones that thrive in the future.

Some ideas age out. Others quietly shape the future. 💡

Last week at the AI MeetUp Kaunas, hosted by the Artificial Intelligence Association of Lithuania, our AI Tech Lead Gediminas Sadaunykas told the story of one such idea – a 1952 model built to compare the quality of pork roasts.

Over time, it powered chess rankings and other sports competitions.
And today, it powers how AI learns from us.

His talk, “Bradley–Terry to Constitutional AI: Ranking’s Renaissance”, showed how simple binary comparisons (“this option is better than that one”) have become a foundation of modern AI alignment – guiding how models learn human preferences and make safer, more reliable decisions. 🔍

Sometimes, the most transformative ideas aren’t the loudest ones – they’re the ones that quietly persist until the world is ready for them. Thank you, Gediminas, for bringing this perspective and showing that progress often starts with something simple.

What if your boss… was an AI?
We asked employees in Lithuania to imagine this. Here are the results 👇

📊 48% say AI would outperform a human when leadership is based on data.
🧊 45% think AI is better in situations where emotional sensitivity isn’t needed.
⚡ 29% value AI's speed and logic.
⚖️ 27% appreciate its fairness and consistency.

And only 14% believe there’s no situation where AI would be a better leader than a human.

So yes – most people trust AI with analytical decisions. But when it comes to empathy and emotional understanding, humans still feel safer with… humans.

But here’s the fun part: we tried to prove that AI can also help even in situations that require empathy and emotional sensitivity. Maybe not to replace the human element, but to support leaders, guide decision-making and make tough conversations easier.

That’s why we developed an AI CEO – a partner built to help managers navigate the everyday challenges of people leadership.

💬 Register now and be among the first to try it (for English and Lithuanian speakers):

A next-generation executive built for leaders who think beyond today. AI CEO blends data-driven insights and emotional intelligence to sharpen your decision-making. Accelerate your leadership journey, act with confidence, and redefine success.

If your invoices take longer to travel than your products, you are not behind. You are operating like most companies in Lithuania still do.

📊 Only 8.8% of Lithuanian businesses use AI – one of the lowest rates in the EU. This means the gap between slow adopters and digital leaders is growing, but you don’t need to catch up all at once. Even a single small change can deliver immediate results.

We ran a proof-of-concept with a manufacturing client. Their invoice registration used to be slow and fully manual. Instead of automating the entire process, we started with one simple step – routing every incoming invoice directly to the finance team.

Here’s what changed in just one month:

✅ No more paper invoices are travelling among the team.
✅ No more manual entry to the finance system.
✅ Automation handled the repetitive work.
✅ The team is focusing on tasks that create value.

This is what digitalisation without the BUTs looks like. Small, precise and immediately useful.

💡 Every day, we build innovative AI solutions for businesses, but this time, we decided to take a bold step forward.

We set out to create an AI CEO – an assistant for every leader, designed to act as a digital partner that helps manage teams smarter and more efficiently.

Before starting, we asked employees in Lithuania: What leadership tasks could AI never do well?
Their answers were consistent – AI struggles with anything that needs a human touch: inspiring people, hiring and firing, leading meetings, or communicating with empathy. However, when it comes to strategy or financial planning, people are much more open to AI’s help.

This raised a bigger question: how could AI support leaders in human-centered decisions?

Our AI CEO helps leaders understand their teams, make empathetic choices, and notice what might otherwise go unnoticed. It shows how AI can complement human judgment, providing guidance in areas that require nuance, context, and emotional intelligence.

👩‍💼👨‍💼 We’re inviting all leaders to give it a try – something totally new in our market. 👉 Sign up here:

Digital twins are entering Lithuanian factories. Quietly, but decisively.

Many manufacturers are still in the “we should think about it” phase.

Meanwhile, companies like Nestlé, Ray & Jules, and Anheuser-Busch InBev are already testing digital twin scenarios and uncovering where the real ROI sits. Digitalisation doesn’t have to mean a full transformation with unpredictable budgets. It can start with one clearly defined problem and measurable outcomes from the very beginning.

The main challenges we see among manufacturers today:
✔️ Defining the exact operational problem a digital twin should solve, not “transform everything at once.”
✔️ Gaining visibility into what you are investing in: clear metrics, efficiency gains, and downtime reduction.
✔️ Aligning operations, engineering, and IT early. Digital twins usually fail not because of technology, but because of fragmented ownership.

“Is a digital twin relevant for us?”
This is the question we hear most often from Lithuanian manufacturers. Our answer:
✅ It’s no longer “if”. It’s “when and how.”
✅ It’s not “all or nothing”. It’s a sequence of controlled steps.
The winners will be those who move fast from abstract ideas to practical use cases.

What does it really take to be a leader your team wants to follow?

We surveyed working Lithuanians aged 22–64. And the insights are clear.

Top 3 things employees value in a leader:
⭐ Ability to motivate and inspire
⭐ Strong leadership skills
⭐ Objective decision-making without emotional bias

And what’s hardest for leaders?
Not a strategy. Not technical tasks.
But people, emotions, and everyday human challenges.

Respondents say leaders struggle most with stress, responsibility, emotional control, motivating others, and resolving conflicts. Our CEO Dainius Aksinavičius summarizes it perfectly:
“Leadership is all about balance – inspiration, trust, respect. Without relationship and mutual belief, nothing works. But empathy must not overshadow performance.”

We also see that leaders often drown in daily tasks and urgent issues, leaving little room to be the inspiring leader their team needs. And while today’s AI tools are great for technical tasks, they hardly help in real, emotional, human situations.

That’s why we built something new.

Based on the survey insights, we created a customizable AI CEO assistant – a tool designed to help leaders exactly where it’s hardest: in communication, motivation, emotional challenges, and complex team situations.

Leaders, explore how AI can become your trusted partner in complex situations. Join our waiting list and be the first to try it in the coming months 👉 link in the comments.

More about the survey results and comments from other leaders:

Darbo rinka nuolat keičiasi, o darbuotojų lūkesčiai auga, tad ir gero vadovo sąvoka įgauna naują prasmę. Naujausios apklausos duomenys rodo, kad vadovams dažniau pakiša koją ne žinių trūkumas, o gebėjimo sustoti, išgirsti ir įvertinti visumą stoka.

What does leadership look like when intelligence is no longer human-only?

Leadership is shifting faster than most leaders realise. To keep pace with the speed of decision-making, the next decade will belong to those who can combine intuition with intelligence.

Today Lietuvos Verslo Forumas brought together more than 1,300 participants and 70 speakers across six stages – exploring everything from strategy and innovation to the new realities of leadership in a world increasingly shaped by data and AI.

When technology starts to see more than we do, what does it mean to lead?

As Geoffrey Hinton, the “godfather of AI,” warned, AI may outthink us in ways we don’t fully understand. But that’s not a reason for fear. It’s a call for reflection.

Our joint research with HUBEL showed that employees in Lithuania don’t expect perfect leaders. They expect them to be fair, calm, and human.

The most significant gap we found isn’t in skills but in emotional clarity.
What are the most common mistakes leaders make?
✅ reacting emotionally;
✅ not listening deeply;
✅ acting before understanding the full context.

AI alone won’t fix this. It would make the same mistakes, just faster.
That’s why we took it as a challenge: to create a tool that broadens human awareness rather than replaces it.

Today, our CEO Dainius Aksinavicius joined the stage at Lietuvos Verslo Forumas to show what this looks like in practice – exploring how leadership evolves when human intuition meets AI precision.

The result is AI CEO – designed to help leaders expand their field of vision, anticipate blind spots, simulate complex decisions, and act with full context.

Explore how AI can become your clearest thinking partner.
