Across Europe, railway communication is being rebuilt from the ground up. GSM-R, the radio system that has carried safety-critical signals for years, is being replaced by a new standard called FRMCS.

The shift is already underway. Germany, Sweden, Spain, and the Netherlands have started testing the new infrastructure, and full migration is expected to be completed by the mid-2030s. It's one of the largest network-wide technology changes European rail has seen in years, touching operators and cross-border lines across the continent 📡

For companies working in railway signalling, this is not a distant deadline. It's a shift happening now, country by country, project by project. At BELAM, we see it as a reminder that infrastructure work is never finished. It keeps evolving alongside the technology running through it.

Our website has a new home: https://belam.eu/ 🌐 It's now live in English, German, and Norwegian, so partners in Oslo, Munich, or Vilnius all see the same site in their own language.

Everything we do sits in one place: planning and consulting, design and engineering, installation, and long-term support, plus our full product range, from security systems and data transmission to machine vision and railway systems.

There's also our story since 1995, and the team of 100+ engineers who make the projects happen. The career section is there too, for anyone curious what working across international infrastructure projects actually looks like.

A website is just a page, but this one carries 30 years of people building things that keep others connected.

Meet Giedrė, our Chief Supply Chain Officer, who helps ensure BELAM projects have everything they need to move forward across multiple countries and teams.

For Giedrė, one of the most rewarding parts of working at BELAM is that no two years are the same. Every new project brings new situations to solve, and every challenge is another opportunity for the team to learn, grow, and become stronger together. She believes that growth is not something that happens once a year, but something that becomes part of everyday work.

What makes her role even more meaningful is seeing the impact of that work. The solutions delivered by BELAM become part of railway systems that people use every day across Norway, Sweden, and Germany, making every completed project more than just another delivery.

At BELAM, we believe the most meaningful work is the kind that keeps people and infrastructure moving every day.

A railway project is never the result of one profession or one team. It brings together specialists with different expertise, all working towards the same goal.

From project managers and engineers to installers, health and safety professionals, quality specialists, and technicians, every role contributes to the final result. Success depends on people who know their responsibilities and trust each other to do theirs 🤜🤛

At BELAM, our teams combine technical knowledge, practical experience, and close collaboration to deliver projects across different countries and environments, ensuring every stage meets the same high standards for quality and safety.

The best results come from people who move in the same direction.

We're looking for a proactive professional with strong English skills, experience in occupational health and safety, and a mindset focused on continuous improvement. If you enjoy working with people, improving processes, and turning requirements into practical solutions, we'd like to hear from you.

What we offer is more than a local role. You'll join an international engineering group delivering infrastructure projects across multiple European markets, with opportunities to work on diverse projects, travel when needed, and contribute to meaningful improvements at group level.

Looking for your next project in Sweden? 🇸🇪

Our team in Malmö is growing, and we’re looking for an Electromechanic to join a long-term railway project. The work takes place in a locomotive depot, where our teams carry out installation and dismantling works, install and connect equipment, work with cable routes and cables, perform testing, and resolve defects according to technical documentation and instructions.

This role is a great fit for electricians, low-current installers, auto electricians, and electromechanics who enjoy hands-on technical work. Basic English, responsibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are important for success in the project.

We offer a long-term project in Malmö, Swedish social guarantees, free accommodation with a private room, paid travel expenses, company-paid trips home once per month, training, certifications, tools, workwear, and a professional team that supports each other every day.

💶 €16-22 net per hour, depending on your experience and competencies.

Railway projects sometimes come with lunch breaks like this 🍕

Working on site means long days outdoors, changing weather, demanding tasks, and a lot of time spent together during projects. That’s exactly why moments like these matter just as much as the work itself.

At Belam, we take our work seriously, but we also know that good projects are built by people who genuinely enjoy working together. And yes, sometimes even an excavator becomes part of the lunch setup 🙂

Our office views in Norway look like this 🏔️ Working outdoors on the Nordlandsbanen Grong-Bodø line, installing railway signalling trackside equipment as part of ERTMS wayside systems, surrounded by mountains, changing weather, and real infrastructure work every day.

Our teams work on the installation of switch machines, signals, axle counters, level crossing systems, cable infrastructure, and other railway equipment that keeps railway systems operating safely and reliably in real conditions.

Right now, we’re looking for new colleagues to join our team in Norway. We’re searching for people with experience in electrotechnics, electromechanics, or automation who are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. Experience with installation works, technical drawings, troubleshooting, and electrical systems is important, together with responsibility, safety awareness, and basic English skills.

At Belam, we provide accommodation in Norway, transport to and from work sites, paid flights between Lithuania and Norway, all required tools and workwear, as well as training and certifications needed for the projects. The work is organised in a 7 on / 7 off rotation schedule.

If you want to work on real railway infrastructure projects across Norway together with teams that take responsibility for what they deliver, we’d be glad to hear from you 👉 https://www.cvbankas.lt/elektromechanikas-e-uzsienyje/1-12910713

In railway infrastructure projects, the difference between a system that works and one that causes problems often comes down to details that are easy to overlook.

Cable connections, testing sequences, equipment alignment, and how different systems are integrated on site – these are the parts of the work that don’t stand out, but define how everything performs 🔌

When these details are handled properly, systems run reliably, handovers are smoother, and there is no need to come back and fix what should have worked from the start.

At Belam, this is where our work is focused –as part of full-cycle project delivery, from installation and integration to testing and handover, making sure every connection, every test, and every step holds up in real conditions and performs as expected over time.
