Here's the difference I often see during network audits:

A well-designed network has firewall rules that are reviewed, documented, and built around the principle of least privilege.

A well-designed network prioritizes business-critical applications, so one large download doesn't slow down the entire office.

A well-designed network separates guests, employees, servers, and IoT devices to improve both security and performance.
๐ A working network gets fixed after users complain.
A well-designed network is monitored continuously, allowing problems to be detected before they affect the business.
After more than 20 years in network engineering, one lesson stands out:
The true value of a network isn't measured on the days everything works.
It's measured on the days something goes wrong.
A well-designed network is easier to troubleshoot.
Faster to recover.
Safer to operate.
And flexible enough to support the business as it grows.
Because the best networks aren't built just to meet today's needs.
They're designed to handle tomorrow's challenges too.
