We developed a method to help fast-growing tech companies with high performing agile offshore development teams. Our method includes finding, hiring and facilitating developers in scrum team format. We started our journey in 2015 with a young and ambitious team. Currently we have 8 teammembers in our Amsterdam office and 45 in the development office in Colombo, Sri Lanka. In 2021, our goal is to become an industry leader and an agile software development powerhouse. We are only interested in working with fast-growing start-and scale ups that are looking for new ways to fuel their growth. Our current clientbase includes several highly ambitious and heavily funded start-ups that are looking to conquer their respective markets.

In Gapstars Academy’s latest Data and AI Guild session, Gihan De Silva, Chandra Irugalbandara, Devon Wijesinghe, and Ishara Neranjana broke down how to squeeze more out of the AI subscriptions we’re already paying for, walking through what they do every day and the friction they hit mid-solve.

That’s the pattern the Academy keeps running: find where our people are already pushing, then put real work behind it. It’s what L&D looks like once you move past a catalogue of courses.

We get better at the tools before we get more of them.

This year we didn't just launch the Gapstars Chess Club, we crowned our first-ever Gapstars Chess Champion. Weeks of late-night strategy, games that moved from the office to online, and lunch-break showdowns all came down to one board.

Last week, we welcomed Alessio Caciagli and Gurbe Scheenstra from Envision Pharma Group to Colombo.

Working across borders and time zones means alignment can't be assumed, it has to be built.

Instead of a standard workshop, we ran a hands-on Agile session using LEGO® Serious Play®, led by Phillipa Bowerbank and Peumalee Chandrasiri.

The team built physical models of their workflows, obstacles, and goals, turning abstract friction into something they could see and point to on the table, and open honest conversations.

At Gapstars, we believe strong partnerships aren't built on process alone, they're built on knowing the people on the other side of the screen. Days like this are how that trust is made.

It's not summer in Lisbon without one of these 🍩

Usually eaten straight out of a cool box on the beach, a Bola de Berlim is Portugal's take on the German Berliner doughnut: replacing jam with a creamy egg custard filling.

This week, with half the country on holiday, we brought the beach to the team who stayed behind in the office. Small treat, big morale boost ☀️
