- Using GovPay could digitise ~50% of local government services -

As part of the nationwide GovPay onboarding program, a workshop for Local Government Institutions and Divisional Secretariats in Sabaragamuwa Province was held in Ratnapura.

Taking a solution-first approach, the discussions covered:
- Prioritizing citizen services that can be made completely presence-less using GovPay
- Establishing regional champions to support onboarding and adoption
- Briefing participants on national digitization initiatives that will simplify service journeys, such as the National Digital Identity (SL-UDI) and National Data Exchange (NDX)

More than 50 Local Government Institutions in Sabaragamuwa Province participated and are now in the process of being onboarded.

As more and more institutions come onboard GovPay, more and more citizens will be able to access government services conveniently from their own devices.

The session was a joint effort between GovTech and LankaPay.
