For those who missed the live stream - Interface 1.0 is available on YouTube.

The Interface project sees longtime collaborators Lalindra Amarasekara, Asvajit Boyle and Nigel Perera envisioning a hypothetical operating system designed for creative exchange. This distillation and abstraction of UI/UX design serves as a framework for an audio-visual performance encompassing real-time generative visuals, live coding and a presentation of specially composed electronic music.

Its first incarnation, version 1.0, was developed as a reaction to the ongoing retreat of the performing arts into the digital space. Interface explores the intersection between technology and art as well as the potential for meaningful expression in the virtual world.

A music video inspired by the song “Dura Akahe” by Charitha Raksh*tha Attalage and Ravi Jay. Intended to be a promotion for a live concert by the Artistes; the Visual Art and Experiences Group envisioned the video as a part of the live performance itself.

Projection mapping and synchronized light programming was used to immerse the performers in scenes that reflected the lyrics of the song. Concepts of distance, separation, time and space was imagined in this production.
