One of the most dangerous mistakes I see in social media management:
- Focusing on vanity metrics most of the time.
- The number of likes does not always mean success.
- High views do not necessarily indicate real impact.
The metrics that truly matter are:
- Audience retention
- Attracting new followers
- Quality engagement
- Conversions
- Building long-term trust
Conversions are when the audience takes a real action after seeing the content, such as purchasing, signing up, or sending a message.
The goal is not only for people to view the content, but to turn followers into actual customers or genuinely interested audiences.
Some pages may appear “successful” digitally… but they generate no real business value.
Data alone is not enough. What matters is understanding the meaning behind the data.
