Our Story
STATION is an independent artist-run platform dedicated to bold cultural experiences that spark the social imagination towards progressive change. Co-founded by filmmaker Nabil Canaan and the late multimedia artist Leila Alaoui, STATION was launched in September 2013 in a converted wood factory on the lower east side of Beirut. Our program is informed by the current moment of possibility in the region’s cultural history. With an experimental spirit, inclusive approach and international reach, STATION is committed to artistic freedom and radical change through the arts. We contribute to the regional creative scene by offering a platform for artists and curators to present progressive projects, exchange with cultural actors and connect with a cosmopolitan public.
