Based in Kuwait, the Automated Systems Company (ASC) was established in March 1985 in response to the very high demands of the local travel agencies requiring a centralized airline reservation system. At inception, ASC was known as Kuwait Multi-Access Reservation System (KMARS) which was acquired by Kuwait Airways Corporation (KAC). Today, KAC remains the majority shareholder of ASC. In 2009, ASC was assigned to switch from the Galileo GDS to Amadeus. All ASC customers were successfully migrated from Galileo to Amadeus. Today, ASC is the leading GDS provider and market leader with over 43% of market share. In addition to GDS services, Amadeus also has a rich set of value-add products that ASC is distributing to Travel Services Companies.
