Have you noticed that since TikTok blew up worldwide, Instagram has been trying to copy it? It started with Reels, which despite being a successful addition to the platform ended up changing the algorithm, causing regular posts to get less traffic than normal. Instagram tried to fix this by adding a feature that allows you to add music to your posts but to very limited success. Another feature Instagram implemented that is inspired by Tiktok is changing the copy link of a post or reel from the old three dots above to the large share button. In addition, Instagram is now testing out a potential feature by adding the number of shares under the share button for reels. In our opinion, it’s a good move that will help expose accounts with fake followers, seeing as shares are one of the most important metrics for the algorithm. Do you agree?
