Most ID card printers use a full ribbon panel for every print—even when you're only adding a barcode or updating an expiration date.

IDP's Partial Printing Mode changes that.

Instead of using a full panel regardless of coverage, it advances only the ribbon length needed to match the data being printed.

Whether it's a short text string, barcode, or expiration date—the printer uses just enough ribbon, no more.
