Acryl, a South Korean company specializing in AI transformation (AX), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with MangoBoost, an AI infrastructure optimization firm, to collaborate on validating and developing AI infrastructure technologies.
Under the agreement, the two companies will cooperate in several areas, including joint research on Ethernet-based AI networking, development and optimization of AI clusters using heterogeneous accelerators (such as GPUs and NPUs), creation of integrated solutions combining both companies’ technologies, and joint business and marketing initiatives.
Acryl’s GPU cluster optimization software, “Jonathan GPUBASE,” will expand its scope to include data processing units (DPUs), in addition to GPUs and NPUs. This aligns with the company’s strategy to develop multi-vendor AI infrastructure software that can manage and optimize various types of AI accelerators within a unified system.
MangoBoost, originally founded from a Seoul National University lab, focuses on addressing performance bottlenecks in data centers. It offers technologies such as DPU-based hardware, large language model (LLM) inference optimization software, and AI server platforms.
The partnership highlights a broader industry shift toward integrated “xPU” infrastructure, where GPUs, NPUs, and DPUs are jointly managed to improve overall data center efficiency beyond individual hardware performance competition.
