This a request for general information on the problems you’re faced with, what the vendor knows about it, any applicable solutions the vendor can offer, any previous experience the vendor may have with similar situations.
At this stage, you have an idea of your problems or pain points, and you are well aware that these problems are holding your organization back.
✔ Request for QUOTATION (RFQ)
An RFQ - is a straightforward request for pricing and payment terms.
The procuring company typically knows how much of the supplies they’re looking to acquire that they need and now want to get an idea of how much it would cost.
✔ Request for PROPOSAL (RFP)
An RFP - request for proposal announces a specific project that is planned and solicits contractors capable of getting the job don.
It invites vendors to offer information on the solutions they can offer and clarify why they’re ideal for the customer’s needs.

The RFP process can ensure that interested parties have access to the same information. This ensures fair and open competition, which is ideal for choosing the right supplier for a project.
