Are you a microfinance organization targeting the SME and lower SME market?
As we move to the end of the financial year your organization is required to present accurate financial statements that show a true and accurate picture of the performance of the organization. Modelling and methodology considerations will be undertaken for:

3. Staging approach-we will assist you to classify the credit status i.e. either as performing, underperforming or nonperforming; identify the triggers as well as the expected credit loss for each stage.

5. Exposure at Default (including Period of Exposure)
6. Significant Increase in Credit Risk (SICR) –we will assist you to identify the points in your product portfolio where there is significant increase in credit risk and how to accurately provide for the risk.
7. LGD: Recoveries Approach-We will analyze your credit portfolio, and, for secured loans, we shall apply the collateralized recovery rate (CRR) and help you to accurately discount the fraction of recoveries obtained from selling the underlying collateral when computing loss given default.
8. Effective Interest Rate (EIR)
9. Forward looking modelling / including economic indicators-Credit organizations are required to determine the nexus between macroeconomic factors and nonperforming loans in their credit portfolio. To help you do this we shall first review your internal controls. Using regression analysis we shall then model the impact of macroeconomic factors on probability of default unique to your portfolio. We shall however use our expertise and experience not just to look at what is happening in the data but to link it to what is happening in the world, hence accurate provisioning.

*The Hackman Experiment*

Richard Hackman, a Harvard psychologist, studied teams.

He formed 4 groups to perform a task. Two groups were composed of "experts" while the other two had only "amateurs".

One expert group was given a process -intervention while the other expert group was not. The amateur groups were also not given any process-intervention.

The 4 groups performed the task.

Results:

The experts with a process did the best, by far.
The group of experts without a process did the worst, much worse than the amateurs.

Conclusion:

Results don't merely come by assembling experts.
Groups that lack a process by which to utilize their collective expertise, knowledge and creative ideas experience a missed opportunity, what a Yale psychologist Irving Janis called "The hidden profile problem''.
