Dear Teachers,
RE: TEACHERS' LESSONS ON ICT INTEGRATION IN EDUCATION THROUGH SCHOOL TV.
ICT is here to stay, We cannot reverse it, we cannot ignore or avoid it. we can only comply by adopting it in our teaching. The Government of Kenya is making efforts to train teachers through MoEST its educational parastatals (KICD, CEMASTEA, TSC). a few of us have been trained, albeit casually or shallowly. but its part of Phase one by Government, to help the teacher familiarize with ICT.
Before this training reaches all of us, and there is a curriculum or a unit of the same in our universities/colleges, it may be year 2020. some teachers may want to wait until then to train; but our pupils are not waiting until then to use ICT in their learning.
Having been a teacher, and an ICT technician for years now, and having practiced teaching in high school using the same, and having trained my colleagues by the directive of my then boss; I developed a curriculum to train teachers; before the Ministry of Education did theirs. after MoEST producing their curriculum, I topped up to what I already had and came up with a very comprehensive, interactive, but simple and practical curriculum.
Together with other specialists in this areas from both the private and the public sector, I welcome you to watch and learn as I take us through lessons on ICT integration in teaching and learning. you can also record my programs with your decoder, and watch as many times as possible, review, and contribute, through this site.
The lessons will run for six months, every week for only 30 Minutes. Expect new ideas, interactive lessons, practical tips, and great experience as we integrate TV (as part of ICT) in teaching and learning through School TV - channel 115 -startimes., and all other free to air decoders.
