Digital Pipeline Africa Ltd

Digital Pipeline Africa Ltd Digital Pipeline Africa Ltd Increased development in Africa has led countless institutions and organizations to purchase and use refurbished computers.

Digital Pipeline Africa (DPA) was incepted in 2010 through a partnership with Computers for Schools Kenya and Digital Pipeline UK - a Microsoft sponsored program that has provided more than 30,000 computers to schools and communities in 11 African countries. All the operations have been run from UK and therefore Digital Pipeline Africa whose headquarters are in Nairobi, Kenya is the implementing p

artner for Africa countries. Due to the volatile and ever dynamic technological environment DPA understands that throughout Africa, there is a tremendous need for mitigation measures in handling e-waste produced. This has led to a rise in tons of e-waste produced once the equipment becomes obsolete. Hence Digital Pipeline Africa was founded so as to tackle e-waste with proper management and sustainable practices. Secondly Digital Pipeline Africa not only disposes end of life computers but also ensures that for every computer disposed, a replacement can be made. This means that supplied computers are not ‘dumped’ in Africa, but are in fact recycled and replaced in an ethical manner. With ICT being at the helm of development the long awaited African technological dawn may be in sight. This is shown through African leading universities and institutions, responding to an unprecedented interest in ICTs by young people. Therefore DPA is set on a quest to be the ICT incubators and are currently developing an e-learning platform with content that will help propel ICT education, research and build ICT capacity that will be a step for institutions and everybody else involved in the quest for technological advance. Altogether DPA aspires to improve the education system through productivity of individuals and their communities by enhancing skills, management and administration. This will help in wealth creation through the empowerment that enhances knowledge and access to information in a safe environment ultimately making Africa more competitive on the global stage.
