The hiring process hasn't changed much in decades...

A candidate submits a Resume.

They write a compelling cover letter.

They answer interview questions.

References are checked.

An offer is made.

Yet, many new hires still fail - not because recruiters made poor decisions, but because they had limited evidence to work with.

A résumé tells us where someone has worked.

An interview tells us how well they communicate.

Neither consistently tells us how they'll perform in the role.

I believe hiring should include one more piece of evidence:

Proof of capability.

Imagine reviewing candidates who have already demonstrated how they:

• Solve problems

• Communicate with customers

• Handle real work scenarios

• Make decisions

• Execute under realistic conditions
