Today marks the final day of the International Potato Field Day. Organized by the National Potato Council of Kenya and AGRA, this event showcased the immense potential of the potato value chain in Kenya — a crop that stands as the second most important crop after maize, feeding millions and supporting livelihoods across the country.
Mzizi is proud to be part of this impactful event, led by our passionate associate, Mercy Kanyagia. We engaged with fellow stakeholders to explore opportunities within the potato value chain. We are thrilled to be part of this vibrant event, engaging with farmers, innovators, policymakers, and most importantly — the youth, whose energy and creativity are breathing new life into the agricultural sector.
With over 800,000 smallholder farmers engaged in potato farming and growing demand in urban markets, stakeholders are actively working together to integrate youth into this powerful value chain — from agri-tech solutions to value addition and smart farming practices.
👏 Here's to a future where potatoes are not just food, but a source of jobs, innovation, and prosperity.
