Read: Daniel 9:1-23
..we have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws. We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, our princes and our ancestors, and to all the people of the land. Dan 9:5-6

Daniel's prayer begins with the confession of sin. But the remarkable thing is that this man, according to the record, has no sin charged against him. Never once in Scripture are we told that Daniel did anything wrong. Now, I am sure he did wrong things. Certainly, sin must have appeared in his life, because Scripture tells us that no man is without sin, but the record does not give us any account of it. But in specific ways Daniel confesses his own sin and the sin of his people: He says, "We have sinned; we have been wicked; we have turned away; we have not listened."

This is pointing to something that is often missing from our own prayers. How many times do we include in them a heartfelt, honest confession of sin? There is nothing harder for us to do than to admit we were wrong, yet to do so is an honest and realistic thing. God does not ask us to confess our sins because he is trying to humiliate us or punish us. Rather, he asks us to do so because we kid ourselves, we are dishonest about ourselves, we are unrealistic about our own lives, and he is an ultimate realist. God always deals with things exactly the way they really are, and he says there is no way we can be helped unless we begin to do the same thing. He asks us, therefore, to start by acknowledging the areas where we have done wrong.

That is why we have the Scriptures. God's Word is like a mirror. Many of us, however, tend to ignore the Scriptures because we know this is true. If you look into the Word of God, into the mirror of the Word, soon you see exactly what you look like, and it is not always pleasant. Other people too are given to us for that reason. Since we cannot see ourselves the way we are, God graciously puts somebody into our life to help us see ourselves. This is why it is so foolish to resist what others are saying to you. If one person says something unpleasant to you, you may be able to dismiss that as coming from a twisted point of view, and you may be right. But, when a half dozen people tell you the same thing, you had better start listening, because they are telling you something that is true that you cannot see. Until you begin to see yourself realistically, you are living in a fantasy world, messing up everything you touch, because you do not see reality, you do not see what is really there. The most helpful thing we can do in our prayer life, therefore, is to take a moment at the beginning of our prayer to face what the Word of God tells us is wrong in our lives — our lovelessness, our sharpness, our caustic attitudes, our tendency to defend ourselves and put down others. This is where Daniel begins. All this is summed up in one great word found many times in Scripture, the word, "repent." When we repent we begin to set things right in our life; we begin to deal honestly with ourselves and with others.

Father, I confess my sin to you. Thank you for the Word of God and the people you have placed in my life to me a mirror. Help me to listen and come to you in genuine repentance and faith.

When your car tires are worn out, you don't say, "Since this tires are worn out, i need to buy a new car
When you have been using your ATM card for some time, and have not been depositing anything, it will stop and tell you "you have insufficient funds in the account. This means, you will enjoy its services, when you make some more deposits
When you have been driving your car for long, and it reaches a place where it stops, you automatically run to the fuel station for re-fueling....!You never go to a car bazaar to buy another car!
If we don't do that, why is it that when it comes to our marriages, we don't deposit anything, yet we need withdraws?
Why is it that we drive our partners crazy and never do any re-fueling?
If we sense the tires in our cars are worn out, we fix them and keep with the journey, but why is it that we can't do that on our marriages?
Marriage is hard-work. It's made in heaven, but practiced here on earth.
Most people who change wives often find they have no wife in life.
Some couple separated on personal grounds and even divorced.10 yrs later, they re-thought their stand, went through counseling and now are in their 7 yrs, which they say is the most blissful of a relationship? Why? is because this time after the divorce, they are both determined to work out on it, and every partner, by the help of God, is thinking of how to make it better. They had divorced, but they know vows made to God goes beyond a government divorce document.
The bible says ,"Love is long-suffering...It says Love is patient....It says love suffers long and is kind; does not envy; does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; [1 Corinthians 13:4-8 ]
But you say ...oh i have endured a lot with this wife...Yes...keep on brother...because love is long-suffering
Yes, as a wife, you say, "Oh he does not even hug me, "but sister, don't you know Love is patient?
Is only in love where our ability to endure the tests of God is actualized. Actually, the bible says those who marry will face many troubles[1 Corinthians 7:28]
Some people just see one trouble and they run away...but those who marry, will face many troubles...The fact is this, even if you run to another relationship, and marry another wife, the troubles will still be there and they will be many.
Most people who left their first wives always regret when it's so late, that the troubles they face in the 2nd marriage, is even much more than the troubles that made them leave their first marriage. This does not mean marriage is to be avoided. Never! God started with a marriage and the bible says we all will appear before the marriage supper of the lamb.
God never started with the church. He started with a marriage. This shows how important marriage is to God. Infact, God says ,"Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.[ Hebrews 13:4]. God values marriage and so should we, because at the end of the day, marriage has more benefits than the problems we face. When we are healthy, many times we don't see the meaning of marriage, but ask a man who is paralyzed at home, because of a sickness the value of a wife, and he will give you tons of reasons why the wife is so important to him.
Ask a woman who is hospitalized with no one to check on her, other than the husband, and she will tell you in tears, of how important the man mean to her. If you are single and got sick at night, with no strength to lift your hand to call anyone, you always wish you were married, because someone would have rushed you to hospital. The bible says "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.
But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up.
Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm, but how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him.
And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.[Ecclesiastes 4:9-12].
God created us and united us together, so that we maybe a support system to one another, no-wonder the vows say," in good times and bad times. It's only in marriage where you can rejoice with one another, and cry with one another. God put it there for such reasons, and those who run from this God ordained institution, end up dying earlier, because they never had someone to support them, when they needed him or her most. Take care of your marriage and may God bless your marriage Christ's sake. God bless you

Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go; first of all in your own home. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next-door neighbor. Mother Teresa.

Is there any place where we can borrow a little boy three or four years old for the Christmas holidays? We have a nice home and would take wonderful care of him and bring him back safe and sound. We used to have a little boy, but he couldn't stay, and we miss him so when Christmas comes. —N. Muller

As I read the above appeal in our local newspaper, something happened to me. For the first time since my husband's death, I thought of grief as belonging to someone else. I read and reread the letter to the editor. Some months before, I had received word from Washington that my husband had been killed in the service overseas. Grief-stricken, I had taken my little son and had moved back to the tiny village of my birth. I'd gone to work to help support my son and time had helped to erase a few scars in my heart. But there were special times when the ache would return and loneliness would engulf me— birthdays, our wedding anniversary and holidays. This particular Christmas, the old pain was returning when my eyes caught the appeal in the newspaper column. We used to have a little boy, but he couldn't stay and we miss him so . . . I, too, knew what missing was, but I had my little boy. I knew how empty the sparkle of Christmas is unless you see it in the joyous eyes of a child. I answered the appeal. The writer of the letter was a widower who lived with his mother. He had lost his beloved wife and his little son the same year. That Christmas, my son and I shared a joyous day with the widower and his mother. Together, we found a happiness that we doubted would ever return. But the best part is that this joy was mine to keep throughout the years and for each of the Christmases since. You see, the man who wrote the letter, months later, became my husband. Mrs. N. H. NOT MANY [of you] should become teachers (self-constituted censors and reprovers of others), my brethren, for you know that we [teachers] will be judged by a higher standard and with greater severity [than other people; thus we assume the greater accountability and the more condemnation]. For we all often stumble and fall and offend in many things. And if anyone does not offend in speech [never says the wrong things], he is a fully developed character and a perfect man, able to control his whole body and to curb his entire nature. If we set bits in the horses' mouths to make them obey us, we can turn their whole bodies about. Likewise, look at the ships: though they are so great and are driven by rough winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the impulse of the helmsman determines. Even so the tongue is a little member, and it can boast of great things. See how much wood or how great a forest a tiny spark can set ablaze! And the tongue is a fire. [The tongue is a] world of wickedness set among our members, contaminating and depraving the whole body and setting on fire the wheel of birth (the cycle of man's nature), being itself ignited by hell (Gehenna). For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea animal, can be tamed and has been tamed by human genius (nature). But the human tongue can be tamed by no man. It is a restless (undisciplined, irreconcilable) evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless the Lord and Father, and with it we curse men who were made in God's likeness! Out of the same mouth come forth blessing and cursing. These things, my brethren, ought not to be so. Does a fountain send forth [simultaneously] from the same opening fresh water and bitter? Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine figs? Neither can a salt spring furnish fresh water. Who is there among you who is wise and intelligent? Then let him by his noble living show forth his [good] works with the [unobtrusive] humility [which is the proper attribute] of true wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry, selfish ambition) in your hearts, do not pride yourselves on it and thus be in defiance of and false to the Truth. This [superficial] wisdom is not such as comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual (animal), even devilish (demoniacal). For wherever there is jealousy (envy) and contention (rivalry and selfish ambition), there will also be confusion (unrest, disharmony, rebellion) and all sorts of evil and vile practices. But the wisdom from above is first of all pure (undefiled); then it is peace-loving, courteous (considerate, gentle). [It is willing to] yield to reason, full of compassion and good fruits; it is wholehearted and straightforward, impartial and unfeigned (free from doubts, wavering, and insincerity). And the harvest of righteousness (of conformity to God's will in thought and deed) is [the fruit of the seed] sown in peace by those who work for and make peace [in themselves and in others, that peace which means concord, agreement, and harmony between individuals, with undisturbedness, in a peaceful mind free from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts].

Too small to be seen with the naked eye, DNAserves as the data bank of our cells. Information about all the living things around you is concealed within this miniaturized data bank inside every cell of every organism. All the structural characteristics of a rose, an orange, a sparrow, a tiger or a human being are present in the nuclei of the cells that comprise these organisms. Look at your hand that is holding this book. These data stores exist in the nucleus of every single one of the cells that compose that hand. These DNAmolecules are invisible to the naked eye but in terms of their contents and data-storage capacity, they are equal to a library consisting of tens of thousands of books. As you observe the miraculous aspects of DNA, which can be seen only by magnifying it thousands of times, you will also appreciate how such minute essential component of life places the theory of evolution in an insuperable quandary. Examining the details of this extraordinary struc ture will give you the opportunity to ponder the infinite might, incomparable knowledge, scope and dominion of our Lord, Allah (God) and the universe He has created. Every day, new discoveries are being made about the universe we inhabit. Billions of galaxies lie hundreds of thousands of light years away from one another. Millions of stars that fill those galaxies, whose dimensions defy our powers of conception. Giant planets constantly revolve in a complex order at speeds of thousands of kilometers without ever colliding with one another. Here, on one of the smaller of these planets, we examine the cells, the building blocks of life on Earth, themselves no bigger than a mere speck, under the electron microscope, an invention of the 20th century. Each of the conditions that makes this planet suitable for life is indispensable to it. The Earth's environment exists and persists by the mercy of Allah. Albert Einstein, one of the 20th century's most eminent scientists, expressed man's difficulty in comprehending the order in the universe in these terms: The human mind is not capable of grasping the Universe. We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many languages. The child knows someone must have written those books.

It does not know how. It does not understand the languages in which they are written. The child dimly suspects a mysterious order in the arrangement of the books, but doesn't know what it is. 1 Human beings have been equipped with all the systems they need within this extraordinary environment. The more details that we learn about the body, the more we realize how miraculous our lives are. As they discover the systems concealed inside their bodies, many people--who would otherwise live without reflection, caught up in the daily course of their lives--will reflect on the purpose behind their existence and become aware of their responsibilities to Allah, their Creator. Indeend, various scientists have acquired faith in the existence of Allah by seeing the greatness of His knowledge and the perfections He has created. But some of them continue to refuse to see that they live in need of Allah, even though their consciences may tell them otherwise. Yet their refusal to admit the truth will not alter the facts. Allah reveals some people's approach in the Qur'an: Do not mix up truth with falsehood and knowingly hide the truth. (Surat al-Baqara, 42) O Humanity! You are the poor in need of Allah whereas Allah is the Rich Beyond Need, the Praiseworthy. (Surah Fatir, 15)

KENYANS, LET US MAINTAIN OUR PEACE & REFUSE TO BE MISUSED BY POLITICIANS ON JULY 7TH. We DONT want a repeat of what they made us go thro in 2008. HAVE RECEIVED THIS FROM A FRIEND: It's time all Kenyans came together to protect their dear Country. It's no longer a matter of our ethnic backgrounds or political inclination, it is all about peace in this Great Nation. Syrians as well as Egyptians 4 sure would NOT have brought down their Government's had they known the PAIN of war they would endure. Fellow Kenyans, we are currently enjoying peace and going about our businesses happily, but this could change if the political fires being ignited are allowed to flame. Nobody has a right to deny Kenyans their rights. Elections will always be won and lost. Does it mean that losers will hold Kenya hostage after every election? We are a young democracy. This new found free space should not be exploited by selfish leaders to threaten the future of our country. It should not be used to preach negative ethnicity. If I may ask, is Rachael Omamo a Kikuyu? She is the defence minister. Is Madam Mohammed foreign affairs or Ole Lenku to mention but a few, a Kikuyu? It's absurd that our leaders will stoop this low. My appeal to all Kenyans is to see beyond the smoke screen. With the discovery of OIL in our country, you need not be a rocket Scientist to tell who is behind the budding calls to overthrow the people's Government. Let us learn from the experiences of our next door neighbour, South Sudan. A single individual was used to bring down one of the fastest growing countries. Can we afford to tear our country apart? Where will these rich leaders and their families preaching hatred be, when the Country burns up? They will fly out to their masters. Please beg all your friends to pray for PEACE and SANITY. Send to peace loving friends...

"How Great Thou Art"
O Lord my God, When I in awesome wonder,
Consider all the worlds Thy Hands have made;
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

And when I think of God, His Son not sparing;
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the Cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin.

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"

Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art.
Then sings my soul, My Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!

My personality is special and unique. I relish in the fact that there is no one else quite like me.

I accept that I have certain qualities that I am very proud of and others that I need to work on.

One of the qualities I appreciate in myself is the ability to be frank with others.

Being frank means that I am forthright in my self-expression.

I want others to know honestly how I feel so I can remain authentic and genuine in my relationships.

Sometimes, my frankness means others may not appreciate my message.

However, I realize that ultimately, a relationship is healthier and stronger when both of us are frank.

When I am candid, it frees me from the struggles of determining how best to share my point using only nuance and subtlety.

I am proud to be frank with others.

My honesty demonstrates that I am sincere, undisguised, and natural in my interactions.

Co-workers clearly appreciate my efforts to be forthright with them.

They seem to know they can count on me to be open and clear about my thoughts, ideas, and feelings.

It just makes life simpler to consistently be direct and honest with others.

Today, I plan to ponder the presence of frankness in my daily life.

I know I can put forth an even greater effort to be candid in my day-to-day exchanges with others.

So let's do some self-reflection today. Here's 3 questions that I have for you...

1. When I am frank with others, how does it affect them?

2. Are there times when I would like to be honest, but instead, I am not? When do those situations occur and with whom?

3. How can I increase my honesty with others?

Let me know.

Look forward to hearing from you.
