However, we need to ensure that there’s a high level of data protection, digital rights and ethical standards. Furthermore, there is a need to address the opacity, complexity, bias, a certain degree of unpredictability and partially autonomous behaviour of certain AI systems, to ensure their compatibility with fundamental rights and to facilitate the enforcement of legal rules.

Breach Exposes 533 Million User Accounts in Facebook Breach.

The data breach is believed to relate to a vulnerability that Facebook reportedly fixed in August of 2019.

Facebook does not have complete confidence in knowing which users would need to be notified.

The personal data of 533 million Facebook users leaked online. The affected users are from the U.S., U.K., Africa, and over 100 other countries. Essentially, if you have a Facebook account, this is something to be concerned about.

The Nigeria revised Data Protection Draft Bill, 2020 has been published for public consultation through the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). The public has been invited for comments and suggestions before 10th September, 2020.

The Proposed Data Protection Bill is intended to establish the Data Protection Commission charged with the responsibility for the protection of personal data, rights of data subjects, regulation of the processing of personal data and for related matters.
