EmpCo is officially in action from today 🌿

As an independent, non-profit organisation with staff and volunteers across all six populated continents, GSTC manages six sustainability standards, covering hotels, tour operators, destinations, attractions, MICE venues and food & beverage businesses, built around four pillars.

Sustainable management, socioeconomic impacts, cultural impacts and environmental impacts. Rather than certifying businesses directly, GSTC accredits the Certification Bodies that do, working to be an agent of change that grows knowledge, adoption and demand for sustainable tourism practices worldwide.

EmpCo is changing the way tourism businesses need to think about sustainability communication.

The EU’s Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directive raises the bar on environmental and social claims, with a much stronger focus on specificity, evidence, and avoiding vague or sweeping language. The Tanda Tula Foundation funds scholarships, while the grassroots Kunavulela project supports vulnerable children with gardens, soccer clubs and mentorship.
