Life in general turns out to be a scam. Back in our days, the motivation for education was to get a good job. The marks one scored were their own making and there was nothing like a parent asking a teacher why a child got this or that marks. The principle of you repeating the class after a failed exam was real and people were embracing it. Today, repeating a class is a taboo.
Because of the tough times we had, the system created very strong characters most of who are now leaders of today. Some have become lawyers while others are in important roles in the government.
Unfortunately, 80% of our political leaders in this generation were never among the best performers in school, they quickly amassed wealth through dubious means while lawyers and teachers were busy and made sure they secured a place in the society. Good IQ has alot to do with genetics. When we have a legislator whose IQ is questionable, they end up crafting a system that fits them and their generation. This is exactly what the political leaders have done. Creating an education system that fits their children, putting in more huddles so that merit does not count anymore.
Today, students are driven to school, others actually stay there even for primary education and most important is that they know their rights. Canings in schools was stopped by the same parents who were bitten to pulp during their school days. You would actually see a parent explaining how his or her child was molested by a teacher! Teachers are no longer passionate about what they do and instead have become money oriented. Every parent wants their child to perform and would do anything including payment of holiday tuition and tokens to teachers. Teachers on the other hand want to show the parents that their children are doing well even when they are not by customizing the children, setting up fixed exams so that every child excels.
The impact of such a crafty system to the society is eminent. We have seen young doctors who cannot express themselves. We have witnessed serious fetal errors in hospitals. Reckless breed of young teachers coming up and a generation that is ready to take shortcuts even when the issue at hand require sobriety. The bible states that if your child does not cry in their early years of life, then the parents would be the ones crying in their sunset years. We have sin it happen today, children sending parents out of their own homes, others fighting with their parents while others have committed su***de in the process.
