Here’s a really cool guitar that just came up for sale at the CroyTone shop.
This is a 1975 Les Paul Deluxe “Standard Conversion.” Back in 1975, the Les Paul Standard had not yet been officially reintroduced to the catalog, but you could custom order a Les Paul Deluxe routed for Gibson T-Top humbuckers, essentially making it a Les Paul Standard.
These don’t show up very often, and this one is a well-played but well-loved example. It has an original T-Top humbucker in the bridge and a vintage DiMarzio Super Distortion in the neck.
Mahogany body with a maple top and a Norlin-era 3-piece maple neck. It’s very loud acoustically and not as heavy as many of the Norlin Gibsons I’ve come across.
The guitar has plenty of scratches, dings, and wear from 50 years of playing. At one point an extra switch was added, but the hole has since been filled.
It was recently professionally refretted and has gone through a full cleaning and setup here at the shop, so it’s playing great and ready to go.

1975年製 Les Paul Deluxe、いわゆる“Standard Conversion”仕様の一本です。1975年当時はまだLes Paul Standardは正式に再導入されていませんでしたが、DeluxeモデルをフルサイズのGibson Tトップ・ハムバッカー仕様でオーダーすることができ、実質的にStandardと同じ仕様の個体が存在します。
こういった個体はあまり多くなく、本機はしっかり弾き込まれた、良い雰囲気の一本です。ブリッジにはオリジナルのTトップ、ネックにはVintage DiMarzio Super Distortionを搭載しています。
マホガニーボディにメイプルトップ、Norlin期の3ピース・メイプルネック仕様。生鳴りも大きく、同年代のGibsonの中では比較的軽めな印象です。
約50年の使用による傷や打痕、使用感があります。また過去にスイッチが追加されていた形跡がありますが、現在は埋め処理されています。
近年プロによるリフレット済みで、店頭に出す前にクリーニングとセットアップも行っているため、演奏性も良好です。
