The Queen's Commonwealth Essay Competition is the world's oldest international writing competition for schools established in 1883 in which thousands of young people take part in the Commonwealth Network of 54 countries. It recognises achievements, elevates youth voices and develops key skills through creative writing in the English language and values democracy, equality, tolerance, human rights and the rule of law.

It is a matter of great pride for Farhina Tasnim Faraby. For 2021 the Competition theme is “Community in the Commonwealth”. With the global spread of COVID-19, the world has seen the lives of many Commonwealth citizens affected. However, through adversity, societies came together and stories of growth, community and hope continue to emerge. Drawing on the urgency of the ongoing crisis and increasing youth activism, young people are called upon to consider their position and power in bringing about change and how the Commonwealth can be used as a tool for positive action. The Patron of this prestigious and acclaimed international programme is the Royal Highness, The Duchess of Cornwall. We are proud of this remarkable achievement of Farhina Tasnim Faraby from Viqarunnisa Noon School & College .

A large population living in and around the lake depends upon the lake resources for their sustenance. The lake is rich in biodiversity and has been designated as a wetland of International Importance under Ramsar Convention in 1990.” Loktak, 1 (October, 1999)

* Loktak biodiversity before the commission of Loktak Project 1983.
* Socio-economic relation between Loktak and People after 1983.
* Phumdis as economic resource?
* Economic problems and hardships of those dependent on Loktak.
* Ownership of Loktak water, phumdis, tourist places, and infrastructures.

* Essay should be sent as text in MS word file formate.
* Essay should be written between 2500 and 3000 words.

Selection procedure:
* The organizer may reject an application or essay that does not fulfil the submission rules.
* A registration number will be issued to an approved applicant.
* All essays will be examined to select the best ten essays.
* Candidates of the ten best essays will be interviewed online.
* The total marks scored by a candidate in the essay and interview will determine the result.
