Turning AgriTech Ideas into Market-Ready Solutions!

On 24 September 2026, the AgriTech Innovation Hub at the German Jordanian University (GJU) hosted an engaging session with startups and SMEs as part of Track A – Product Development.

The session was an exciting opportunity to introduce companies to the support, technical expertise, and development opportunities available through the Hub — and, most importantly, to listen directly to the innovators themselves.

💡 Through an open discussion, participating companies introduced their solutions, shared their current development stage, highlighted their challenges and needs, and explored how the opportunities offered through the Hub could help them move their solutions forward.

The session marked another important step toward connecting innovation with real agricultural needs and supporting AgriTech solutions on their journey from idea to implementation. 🌾💡

في 24 أيلول 2026، استضاف مركز الابتكار للتكنولوجيا الزراعية في الجامعة الألمانية الأردنية (GJU) جلسة تفاعلية مع مجموعة من الشركات الناشئة والشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة، ضمن مسار تطوير المنتجات (Track A – Product Development).

شكّلت الجلسة فرصة مميزة للتعريف بـ الدعم الفني والخبرات والفرص المتاحة للشركات من خلال المركز، والأهم من ذلك، الاستماع بشكل مباشر إلى الشركات وفهم احتياجاتها وتحدياتها.

💡 وخلال حلقة نقاش مفتوحة، قدمت كل شركة نبذة عن نفسها وحلولها، وشاركت المرحلة التي وصلت إليها، والتحديات التي تواجهها، واحتياجاتها الحالية، إلى جانب مناقشة كيفية الاستفادة من الفرص والخدمات التي يوفرها المركز لدعم تطوير حلولها.

وتأتي هذه الجلسة كخطوة جديدة نحو ربط الابتكار بالاحتياجات الحقيقية للقطاع الزراعي، ودعم الشركات في تحويل أفكارها وحلولها إلى منتجات وخدمات قابلة للتطوير والوصول إلى السوق. 🌾💡

On Monday, 21/9/2026, the pilot phase the of the AgriTech Service Line was successfully launched, bringing together farmers, AgriTech SMEs, and ecosystem partners to turn agricultural challenges into market-ready solutions. This initiative is a proud collaboration between the AgriTech Innovation Hub at the German Jordanian University (GJU) and the AgriTech Field Lab at MIRRA, made possible with the support of GIZ through the GAIN project.
In the sessions, we bridged the gap between technology supply and on-the-ground agricultural demand. We explored critical farmer pain points across the Jordan Valley, Mafraq, and Azraq—such as rising energy costs, water scarcity, and post-harvest losses, we also introduced a study of a —and mapped them directly to viable business models for local innovators. The event also featured a dedicated masterclass on integrating circular economy principles, ensuring our agricultural future is both resilient and resource-efficient.
As part of this pilot launch, we are officially calling on innovators to join our support programs:
• Product Development Track (Track A): implemented by the AgriTech hub at GJU, this track supports early-stage concepts with engineering design, prototyping, and technical feasibility assessments.
• On-farm Piloting Track (Track B): Led by MIRRA, this track provides access to real farms for SMEs ready to validate their functional prototypes and gather agronomic performance data.
Applications are now open for legally registered SMEs in Jordan and will close on October 5, 2026.

انطلقت يوم الاثنين 21/9/2026 بنجاح المرحلة التجريبية لخدمات التكنولوجيا الزراعية (AgriTech Service Line)، في فعالية جمعت المزارعين والشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة وشركاء النظام البيئي لتحويل التحديات الزراعية إلى حلول جاهزة للسوق. هذه المبادرة هي ثمرة تعاون بين مركز الابتكار للتكنولوجيا الزراعية (AgriTech Innovation Hub) في الجامعة الألمانية الأردنية (GJU) والمختبر الميداني للتكنولوجيا الزراعية (AgriTech Field Lab) التابع لمؤسسة ميرا (MIRRA)، وبدعم من الوكالة الألمانية للتعاون الدولي (GIZ) من خلال مشروع (GAIN).
عملت الجلسات على سد الفجوة بين توفر التكنولوجيا والاحتياجات الفعلية للمزارعين، حيث ناقشنا التحديات الرئيسية في وادي الأردن والمفرق والأزرق—مثل ارتفاع تكاليف الطاقة، ونقص المياه، وخسائر ما بعد الحصاد—وربطناها بنماذج أعمال قابلة للتطبيق محلياً. كما تضمن الحدث جلسة متخصصة حول دمج مبادئ الاقتصاد الدائري لضمان مستقبل زراعي مرن وفعال في استخدام الموارد.
كجزء من هذا الإطلاق، ندعو المبتكرين والشركات للتقدم إلى مسارات الدعم الخاصة بنا:
• مسار تطوير المنتجات (Track A): بقيادة ال Agritech Hub@GJU في الجامعة الألمانية الأردنية (GJU)، لدعم الأفكار في مراحلها الأولى من خلال التصميم الهندسي، وبناء النماذج الأولية، وتقييم الجدوى الفنية.
• مسار الاختبار الميداني (Track B): بقيادة ميرا (MIRRA)، لتمكين الشركات من الوصول إلى مزارع حقيقية لاختبار نماذجها الأولية وجمع بيانات الأداء الزراعي والتشغيلي.

قامت شركة Nexus Nature, المحتضنة من الجامعة الألمانية الأردنية German Jordanian University،بتوقيع اتفاقية تفاهم مع شركة Sadeem Technology السعودية. حيث تعتبر شركة Sadeem من الشركات الرائدة في المملكة العربية السعودية في مجال أنظمة مراقبة الفيضانات و تطبيقات المدن الذكية والمستدامة. بهذه الشراكة تخطو الشركتان خطوات كبيرة تجاه تكامل الحلول لخدمة كلا البلدين و المنطقة.
وقع عن شركة Nexus Nature الرئيس التنفيذي الدكتور قاسم عبد العال برعاية عطوفة رئيس الجامعة الاستاذ الدكتور علاء الدين الحلحولي و معالي الدكتور معن قطامين، ووقع عن شركة Sadeem الدكتور مصطفى موسى الرئيس التنفيذي للشركة بحضور ثلة من اعضاء مجلس الادارة

Nexus Nature has signed MoU with Sadeem, incubated by the German Jordanian University (GJU), a leading Saudi company specializing in flood monitoring systems and smart and sustainable city applications.

This strategic partnership marks an important step toward integrating innovative solutions and technologies to serve Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the wider region, strengthening collaboration in environmental monitoring, flood management, and smart city solutions.

The MoU was signed on behalf of Nexus Nature by CEO Dr. Qasem Abdelal , under the patronage of
Prof. Dr. Ala’aldeen Al-Halhouli, President of the German Jordanian University, and H.E. Dr. Maen Al-Qatamin.

On behalf of Sadeem, the agreement was signed by Dr. Mustafa Mousa, CEO of Sadeem, in the presence of several members of the company’s Board of Directors.

We look forward to a successful partnership and to developing innovative solutions that contribute to a smarter, safer, and more sustainable future for the region. 🌍

مهندس زراعي - إنتاج نباتي (Agronomist)

المهام والمسؤوليات الرئيسية:
المساهمة في تطوير وتنفيذ حلول الزراعة الذكية.

المشاركة في الزيارات الميدانية وجمع وتحليل البيانات الزراعية، بالإضافة إلى تصميم وتنفيذ التجارب الزراعية.

متابعة المحاصيل وإجراء التقييمات الزراعية الدورية.

التعاون مع فريق الهندسة والبرمجيات لتطوير الحلول الرقمية الزراعية.

المساعدة في تنفيذ الأنشطة والأعمال البحثية، بما في ذلك مراجعة الأدبيات العلمية، جمع البيانات، وإعداد التقارير والأوراق البحثية.

المؤهلات والخبرات المطلوبة:
حاصل على درجة البكالوريوس في الهندسة الزراعية.

معدل جامعي لا يقل عن جيد جداً (مع إعطاء الأولوية للحاصلين على تقدير امتياز).

معرفة جيدة أو خبرة أكاديمية في علم المحاصيل والإنتاج النباتي (Agronomy).

شغف واهتمام بالتقنيات الزراعية الحديثة، الزراعة الذكية، والزراعة الدقيقة (Precision Agriculture).

إجادة العمل ضمن فريق، مع الاستعداد والقدرة للتعلم والتطوير المستمر.

إجادة اللغة الإنجليزية بشكل ممتاز (كتابة ومحادثة).

وخلال الزيارة، استعرض فريق Nexus Nature حلول الشركة التقنية في مجالات الرصد البيئي، والزراعة الذكية، وإدارة الموارد المائية، إلى جانب مناقشة دور الابتكار والتكنولوجيا في دعم الاستدامة وتعزيز كفاءة إدارة الموارد الطبيعية.

✔ Develop and calibrate surface water & hydrological models
✔ Support watershed analysis and water resource optimization

Who can apply (INJAZ criteria):

✔ Jordanian nationals (born 2000–2005)

✔ Recent Master's graduates are highly encouraged to apply
✔ Preference will be given to candidates with research experience in hydrological or numerical modeling
