AISK Jamaica

AISK Jamaica The American International School of Kingston is a Global Center for Excellence in Education. Find out more about AISK at www.aisk.com.

Head of School Message: On behalf of our entire community, I welcome you to AISK. As someone who has worked in Education worldwide, I can say this: AISK is a great school with a fabulous future. I see AISK as one of the most determined schools in the Caribbean. We are home to Jamaica’s first 1 to 1 Laptop program, and the only high-performing school in Kingston to open a residence hall (for both i

nternational and Jamaican students). We hire only the most accomplished local and international teachers (about 50% for each) to teach a curriculum guided by American and international standards. Our Elementary Program is also on the move, with LCD projectors, computer labs, and other technologies readily available to enliven instruction. Our curriculum is academic, but embraces full-person development supported by differentiated instruction. Also, our full-day Preschool program, Elementary School Government, and K-Kids (A Kiwanis Club Affiliation) offer students more opportunities than ever in the early grades.

Riding a ferris wheel is a part of the syllabus at AISK?! 🎑

Yes! Our Kindergarten students have been learning about force and motion, including pushes, pulls, movement, and how things work. To bring this learning to life through a hands-on engineering experience, our amazing Kindergarten teachers (with the help of ) brought a ferris wheel to school!

Students not only had the opportunity to ride the ferris wheel, but they also observed the setup process to better understand how the structure works, how its parts connect, and the engineering involved in making it move safely. This real-world learning experience will help students make meaningful connections between classroom learning and everyday structures, and supported them observing real-world engineering, asking questions, making predictions, and understanding how motion and force work in everyday life.

Week of the Arts is AISK's annual celebration of the creative spirit that runs through our campus πŸ§‘β€πŸŽ¨ Check out the visual art pieces that have been brought to life this year!

It gives our students the opportunity to show off their creative talents for the entire school community to appreciate. With 2 separate assemblies showcasing the performing arts, our week long visual arts display and the AISK Dance Ensemble's Evening of Dance, our students' creativity get a real unique spotlight that we look forward to every single year!
