Jamaica’s digital transformation is making its mark on the regional conversation. 🇯🇲💻

From September 29 to October 2, 2026, the ICT Authority joined Jamaica’s delegation in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, for the Regional Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Forum, the IX Ministerial Meeting on Digital Government of the Americas and the XX Annual Meeting of Red GEALC.

Jamaica showcased two solutions in the 2026 ExcelGOB Awards: GovPayout and the Certificate Generation and Distribution System (CGDS) Certificate Portal. The delegation also engaged in discussions on Jamaica’s Digital Document Wallet, creating opportunities for regional knowledge exchange and collaboration.

For our Chief Information Officer, Mrs. Anika Shuttleworth, the discussions reinforced an important priority for Jamaica’s digital future:

"The next phase of digital government must focus on turning shared digital infrastructure into better, more accessible services and measurable outcomes for the people and businesses we serve."

The experience offered valuable insights from regional partners and digital leaders, including the Dominican Republic, Estonia and South Korea, on interoperability, digital identity, AI readiness, cybersecurity and citizen-centred service delivery.

As Jamaica advances its digital-government agenda, the focus remains on building connected, trusted solutions that make a meaningful difference.
