Volunteer Spotlight: Sue
In celebration of Volunteers’ Week, meet Sue, a passionate foodie, qualified coach,
and experienced mentor who’s been volunteering with BSK for over five years - and
loving every minute!
“I was looking to give back to our community and when I discovered BSK, it just
spoke to me. The work they do to support people with learning disabilities and
autistic people is so meaningful - I knew it was the right place for me.”
With experience in Learning and Development, Sue brings a wealth of knowledge -
but says some of the most powerful lessons have come from working alongside the
BSK crew.
“I’ve learned so much - not just new skills in the café, print room, catering and
events, but about patience, teamwork, and the importance of slowing down and
connecting with people. It’s truly life-changing.”
One unforgettable moment?
“Our annual BSK Awards night. The energy is electric - seeing the crew recognised
for their hard work, their growth, and even graduating... it’s a celebration of
everything BSK stands for.”
And if you& #39;re thinking of volunteering?
“Get in touch with the team - you won’t look back!”
