From molecular structures to soundscapes: our vinyl and sleeve design for Amphibian Songs II – A Soundscape for Futurity Island by Nomeda & Gediminas Urbonas Gediminas Urbonas

“The album brings together experimental music, molecular science, and ecological imagination, exploring how sound can reveal invisible material structures and transform them through artistic interpretation.

Developed in collaboration with materials scientist Markus J. Buehler Markus J. Buehler, the project investigates the molecular structure of a protein produced by caddisfly larvae, known for its remarkable underwater binding properties. Acoustic interpretations of this biological material became the starting point for a series of compositions in which science meets artistic experimentation.“

Featuring contributions by Nicole L’Huillier, Markus J. Buehler, Francisco López, Brandon LaBelle, and Grönlund–Nisunen.

We are looking for a design intern to join NODE in Berlin starting in November or at a later date that works for you. If you have strong design skills, a curious mind, and a love of experimenting with typography and technology, we’d love to hear from you.

This opportunity is open to:
– Students completing a mandatory internship required by their degree programme, for 3–6 months within the prescribed duration.
– Applicants seeking a voluntary internship of up to 3 months, either alongside their studies or to help them choose a degree or vocational training programme before enrolling.

The internship can be conducted in German or English. Compensation will be discussed with you at the next stage of the application process.

A Kind of Paradise Artistic Counter-Narratives to Colonial-Era Photography

Published to accompany the exhibition at Museum Rietberg in Zurich, this book explores how artists from the Global South transform colonial-era photographs through memory, imagination and resistance, opening up new perspectives on the past and possibilities for the future. Museum Rietberg

Our design unfolds through a continuous sequence of images, bringing distinct artistic positions into dialogue. An index, essays on the works and historical photographs form separate sections, offering further ways into the material.

Ultima 2026 is on.
Oslo’s festival for contemporary music runs until 19 September, and this year it comes with a new visual identity: a generative system that turns the festival’s own sound into image. Every poster, video and web page is rendered from audio – colour fields, noise and glitch driven by the music itself, so no two outputs are the same.

Published on the occasion of Kiriakos Tompolidis’ first solo exhibition with Galerie Judin. The young painter decided to unfurl his family album and invites us to follow the footsteps of his Greek grandparents, who left their homeland to find a better life in Germany. All his family members and their contrasting attitudes are featured in the works of this exhibition, including himself. They are about life between two “worlds”, as Tompolidis describes it, an in-between space that the young painter explores in his paintings. But while the prevailing theme is indeed family and cohesion, almost all the figures are depicted as solitary: They are left to their own devices, alone with their hopes and fears. It is this loneliness and melancholy that pervades Tompolidis’ work.
