ously watching Surveillance Monitors. The name is due to A3iu extensive use of Artificial Intelligence Technologies. With A3iu, Artificial Intelligence is used both for analyzing Contents (e.g. through Video Analysis) and for evaluating Events. Thanks to that A3iu is able to analyze situations, detect potential dangers, and proactively give Operators Safety and Security warnings, together with all information needed for the final evaluation of potential threats. We think a State of the Art System has to minimize false alarms. The “Fusion” (concurrent use) of information coming from different sensors makes System evaluations more reliable. That’s why A3iu has been developed for integrating, commanding and controlling different subsystems such as Video Analysis, Anti-intrusion, Fire Detection, Access Control, …
Hyperion evolution strategy is therefore very simple: introducing always more sophisticated Artificial Intelligence Algorithms while on the other hand integrating an increasing number of Subsystems developed by specialized 3d Parties. Reality is that in most of the cases no single Technology is able to meet Safety and Security requirements with the required level of reliability. A good example for this is Video Analysis that applies to the Video Stream coming from a camera. Through the Analysis of changes in the flow of images, Video Analysis can detect possible facts like the presence of an entity, its type and its behavior. Unluckily Video Analysis reliability is heavily affected by light conditions. Contexts where light conditions change significantly, and suddenly, are not the best to exploit Video Analysis capabilities. Who develops Video Analysis solutions, like Hyperion does, knows very well this limit. Its use needs therefore to be carefully evaluated to avoid disappointments. The same applies to other technologies as well. While past and current developments have been mostly focusing on getting a single more sophisticated algorithm or a single smarter sensor, Hyperion thinks what really matters for meeting Client Security requirements is often the concurrent use of more than one technology selected on a case by case basis. Off course, It is fundamental to avoid “technology islands” as any single technology needs to integrate in the overall solution. More than a pure technology integration, there is the need for a single command and control intelligence that supervises all technologies and finally evaluates Security events. A broad range of different technologies and specialized systems are today available on the Safety & Security Market, but unluckily they do not integrate each other in a native way. Their integration can be achieved just through (expensive) custom developments. Hyperion’s vision has been therefore to develop a Safety and Security Integrated Software Package: A3iu. A3iu has a modular structure making possible every time to select the modules you really need. There are two kinds of modules:
modules entirely developed by Hyperion thanks to its Artificial Intelligence knowledge (like the Video Analysis module),
modules for the integration and supervision of 3rd Party products.
