Maintenance shouldn't mean chasing spreadsheets while standing in front of the equipment.

This report tracks scheduled and predictive maintenance directly on the model. The whole building, broken down by floor, 2D and 3D together, all connected. Every diffuser, every return air system, color-coded by condition and days to maintenance, right where it physically sits in the building. Pick a floor, and the overdue items light up in red before you even open the table.

Material quantities usually live in a spreadsheet nobody wants to open. Here they live on the model, and with Vcad you can actually work with them.

This Materials Review report pulls every element's structural material and volume straight from the BIM model into Power BI. Concrete, metal stud, furring, steel, brick, each one broken down by volume and by share of the total.

Then the useful part: pick a material and the model isolates it. You see exactly where the concrete cores sit, where the metal framing runs, what the furring actually covers. Not a number in a row, but the number and its place in the building at the same time.

Takeoffs, procurement, cost, carbon: they all start from the same question. How much of what, and where. This answers it in one view instead of cross-checking a schedule against a model.

Just one report, but plenty of our clients use Vcad exactly for this.

What if a project schedule could live inside the model itself?

That is exactly what 4D reporting in Vcad does, built on the Navisworks Timeliner.

In this example, over 14,000 objects across six construction phases (from Foundations and Slabs to MEP and Fittings) are read straight from the Navisworks Timeliner and brought into Power BI with Vcad.

Each phase gets its own color on the 3D model, while a clear status column flags what is on track, pending, or running late.

What stood out for us is how fast the picture becomes readable. Instead of cross-checking a Timeliner schedule against a separate model, you see 4D scheduling and geometry in one Power BI view: select a phase, and the model lights up. Spot a delay, and you know exactly which part of the building it affects.

This is what 4D should feel like: not another report to interpret, but a visual answer to "where are we, and what is late?"

4D is just one of the many ways Vcad turns Navisworks Timeliner data into clear, actionable insight.

The new interface has been built to improve operational clarity, model control, and coordination speed, allowing teams to manage federated models in a much more fluid and efficient way.

What makes this update so powerful?


A completely refreshed design with a cleaner, more modern, and intuitive experience. Every interaction has been optimized to simplify daily workflows and improve navigation across the platform.


Models can now be aligned directly inside the viewer through a far more interactive and visual workflow. Moving, rotating, positioning, and coordinating models becomes immediate and intuitive.


Architecture, Structure, HVAC, Plumbing, Facades, and Site models can all be managed together inside a single federated environment, improving interdisciplinary coordination and providing a clearer overview of the entire project.


The new system allows users to isolate, preview, reposition, and organize models dynamically, significantly accelerating BIM coordination activities.


From Slot Manager to Alignment Settings, every interaction has been redesigned to reduce operational friction and improve productivity for BIM teams.

Over the past months, we’ve been working behind the scenes to make Vcad faster, smarter, and more connected than ever. Last Saturday, May 9 2026, we released a major update focused on improving performance, usability, security, and platform consistency across the entire Vcad ecosystem.

Here’s what’s new 👇


File conversion is now up to 5x faster. Less waiting time, quicker iterations, and faster access to BIM data directly inside and other analytics environments.
