We completely redesigned the Federation experience to deliver a faster, smarter, and more intuitive workflow for managing complex BIM environments.

The new interface has been built to improve operational clarity, model control, and coordination speed, allowing teams to manage federated models in a much more fluid and efficient way.

What makes this update so powerful?


A completely refreshed design with a cleaner, more modern, and intuitive experience. Every interaction has been optimized to simplify daily workflows and improve navigation across the platform.


Models can now be aligned directly inside the viewer through a far more interactive and visual workflow. Moving, rotating, positioning, and coordinating models becomes immediate and intuitive.


Architecture, Structure, HVAC, Plumbing, Facades, and Site models can all be managed together inside a single federated environment, improving interdisciplinary coordination and providing a clearer overview of the entire project.


The new system allows users to isolate, preview, reposition, and organize models dynamically, significantly accelerating BIM coordination activities.


From Slot Manager to Alignment Settings, every interaction has been redesigned to reduce operational friction and improve productivity for BIM teams.


The new federation management workflow has been designed to support both small projects and highly complex federated BIM environments while maintaining performance, organization, and control.

This update is not just a visual improvement.

It’s a major evolution in how federated BIM data is managed inside Standalone.

Big updates are here for

Over the past months, we’ve been working behind the scenes to make Vcad faster, smarter, and more connected than ever. Last Saturday, May 9 2026, we released a major update focused on improving performance, usability, security, and platform consistency across the entire Vcad ecosystem.

Here’s what’s new 👇


File conversion is now up to 5x faster. Less waiting time, quicker iterations, and faster access to BIM data directly inside and other analytics environments.


We are bringing Standalone and closer together with a more consistent workflow and stronger feature parity across platforms. The goal is simple: reduce friction and simplify the user experience.


You can now access Vcad using social logins including ACC / Autodesk Forma, LinkedIn, Microsoft, and Google. Faster onboarding and easier authentication for every user.


Standalone users can now take advantage of new project and folder management capabilities, making large data environments easier to structure and scale.


We completely redesigned the Federation Definition page and introduced multiple interface improvements across the platform to make workflows more intuitive and efficient.


Optional Two Factor Authentication (2FA) is now available, adding an extra layer of protection while keeping access flexible and user friendly.

And this is only the beginning.

We are already working on the next generation of improvements for the , with deeper insights, enhanced performance, and an even smoother experience across the platform.

In many BIM projects, Navisworks Selection Sets are already part of everyday coordination workflows. The same structure can become a reliable bridge between model geometry and business data without changing the authoring model.

By combining Selection Sets, Navisworks Quick Properties, Vcad, and Power BI, external datasets such as progress, cost, procurement, or QA can be connected to model elements in a clean and robust way. Selection Sets define the reporting structure, Quick Properties expose a stable element identifier, Vcad delivers geometry and properties into the Power BI dataset, and Power BI manages the relationships that drive filters and 3D highlighting.

The result is a scalable, repeatable, and easy to maintain data model that keeps coordination logic, technical data, and enterprise information clearly separated.

To use Vcad, you need an active account. This gives you the ability to process and files, extract all objects and attributes, and display the model directly in your report. Whether you choose the Standalone version, compatible with models and optionally the viewer, or Vcad for ACC, fully integrated with , configuration is simple and guided.

Vcad is now available on Microsoft AppSource!

With the official release of Vcad on Microsoft AppSource for Power BI, users can now seamlessly integrate 3D BIM models (IFC, Revit, DWG, Navisworks, InfraWorks) into their reports and dashboards, enabling interactive exploration and data-driven analysis in just a few clicks.
The visual can now also be easily updated through AppSource, so you’ll always have access to the latest features and improvements with no extra setup.

This is an important step toward making our technology even more accessible and seamlessly integrated into the daily workflows of designers, builders, real estate managers, and data analysts.
