Bamiyan CULTURAL CENTER DESIGN CONCEPT.
THE choice to design THE BAMIYAN cultural center is due to the great importance of this archeological site in Afghanistan. We chose to design not a single building, but a real "citadel" of culture. The single buildings that make up the complex are distinct, have the functions required by the BUILDING PROGRAM and they are all connected by walkways also covered. The new Cultural Centre consists of "empty SPACES" and "full SPACES" that are alternated in their destinations, making it possible to exploit all the available space. It has been given great importance to the open spaces of the ARCHITECTURAL GUIDELINES dedicated to the community (front of the CLASSROOMS AND MUSIC PERFORMANCE ROOM) because we believe this is an important factor of integration and life of the center itself with the local community
