The unmet clinical needs in the management of bladder cancer are the prevention of tumor onset, relapse and progression, and therapy of the aggressive bladder carcinoma in situ (Cis), requiring frequent and endless follow-up and weekly treatments, with a consequent poor quality of life and the highest cost per patient among all cancers.
EDIT (h2020) demonstrated the feasibility of an advanced innovative technology combining a novel high-resolution ultrasound and photoacoustic imaging on the bladder instilled with targeted gold nanorods, for the early detection and treatment of bladder Cis below 0.5 mm.
EDIT paves the way for the earlier management of bladder cancer, with a profound impact on the quality of life and well-being of millions of people.

Don’t miss out on the Launch of PiPPi Platform!

Welcome to a new arena for joint innovation in healthcare – Pre-launch of the platform for the PiPPi Community of Practice.

On October 21 you are invited to the pre-launch of a new arena for sharing insights and finding partners to drive innovation in healthcare, the PiPPi Community of Practice. The initiative is led by seven European university hospitals with the ambition to jointly address common challenges and facilitate collaborations between a variety of stakeholders – patients, industry, researchers, policymakers, and others with an interest to contribute to the healthcare of tomorrow.

You will be introduced to the digital platform that will accommodate the sharing of unmet needs and collaboration. The pre-launch and follow-up workshops offer you the opportunity to be one of the first to work on the platform. It will also enable you to give your feedback and help develop the functionalities. The official launch of the platform is planned for the beginning of 2022. As the Covid pandemic has accelerated the urgency of innovative solutions, pandemic-related examples will be used to showcase the functionalities of this new collaborative platform.
