Migliore + Servetto space identity projects + storytelling and multimedia | from Milan to Seoul | since 1997

Migliore+Servetto firm, founded in Milan in 1997, develops architectural, interior, urban and communication projects. Founding partners Ico Migliore and Mara Servetto, together with an international team of architects and designers, work for cities, institutions and museums, as well as for the most important international brands in industry, fashion and publishing. They conceive projects on different scales, places interpreted as active interfaces, tools of elective communication between companies/institutions and the public so as to establish a memorable experience. Over the years the studio has developed, a solid expertise also made of management and control of each stage of the project, from the concept to the realization, both in Italy and abroad. Migliore+Servetto projects have been awarded with many international prizes.

Dare forma e spazio a 60 anni di storia ambientalista.

Per la mostra “Rivoluzione Naturale” al Museo MAXXI, il progetto espositivo curato da Migliore+Servetto trasforma la MAXXI Library in un organismo vivo e narrativo.

Al centro dell’allestimento prende corpo il concept “Nature’s Lifeline”: una grande spina dorsale luminosa arancione di oltre 20 metri che taglia diagonalmente lo spazio e oltrepassa le vetrate del museo per estendersi nella corte esterna. Un segno tangibile che riconnette persone, specie e territori, ricordando che la tutela della natura non si chiude tra le pareti di un museo, ma entra nella nostra quotidianità.

L’allestimento unisce memoria analogica e linguaggi digitali:

🔸Il lungo tavolo retroilluminato accoglie i documenti storici, le copertine d’epoca di Panda e gli acquarelli del fondatore Fulco Pratesi.
🔸Grandi bandiere grafiche verticali guidano il pubblico attraverso 6 aree tematiche.
🔸Un percorso immersivo di luci, paesaggi sonori e installazioni digitali interattive coinvolge il visitatore in prima persona.
🔸All’esterno, la Lifeline dà vita a una versione in scala ambientale dello storico Gioco dell’Oca del WWF per raccontare con un approccio partecipativo le storie di conservazione di specie simbolo.

Un progetto modulare e reversibile pensato per celebrare la coscienza ecologica nel nostro Paese.

Vieni a trovarci in studio per scoprire la mostra Portolani. 9 Progetti di Archigrafia Urbana, nell’ambito di BIG - Biennale Internazionale Grafica, festival diffuso dedicato al design della comunicazione e alle culture visive.

Un percorso tra scala urbana e dimensione di quartiere: dall’allestimento per le Olimpiadi Invernali di Torino 2006 ai sistemi di wayfinding per istituzioni come la Galleria BPER, fino agli interventi di rigenerazione urbana a Milano - LivinUp Seimilano e Milano Certosa District. Uno sguardo che si estende oltre i confini nazionali, fino ai progetti di scala paesaggistica realizzati in Corea del Sud.

Un racconto in cui l’archigrafia emerge come un dispositivo vivo, capace di orientare comportamenti, dare identità ai luoghi e arricchire l’esperienza della città.

Dear Fusako, how deeply we will miss your energy, passion, and friendship❤️

You once said: “For a somewhat sui generis Japanese person like me, Italy, with its unpredictability, was the perfect fit for my character.”

These words so perfectly reflect your unique spirit: a remarkable openness and curiosity through which you brought different cultures and perspectives into dialogue.

Fusako Yusaki was a visionary artist, designer, and animator whose boundless creativity, lightness, and joy shaped a unique artistic language capable of reaching people of all generations.

From her iconic work for Carosello and L’Albero Azzurro to her beloved characters Peo, Oto, and Talpy, her playful, poetic world touched countless imaginations and will continue to inspire us.

Thank you, dear Fusako, for your extraordinary lesson in creativity and life, for the precious moments we shared, and for your invaluable friendship.

And to wrap up a week of great achievements, we are delighted to share a third exciting recognition: our environmental graphics project for LivinUp Milano has been shortlisted for the Dezeen Awards 2026 in the Graphic Design category.

Conceived as an intervention of Urban Archigraphy, the wayfinding system transforms orientation into a dynamic visual language that fosters community identity.

From its high-contrast chromatic system to the custom icon set and the iconic Pin landmark, the project dresses the space in an inclusive narrative, establishing a seamless dialogue between architecture, residents, and the surrounding ecosystem.

We are honored to announce that the permanent exhibition and multimedia design project for the Schengen Museum and the Prinzessin Marie-Astrid II boat has been selected for the ADI Design Index 2026 in the Exhibition Design category.

Designed by Migliore+Servetto, with multimedia design in collaboration with KARMACHINA, the project translates forty years of European history into an immersive narrative space. From the restored historical vessel to the central interactive Cube, the design reinterprets the concept of borders into a fluid, borderless architecture of unity and shared identity.

The countdown to Pordenone 2027 is officially underway.

We are proud to unveil “La matita del tempo”, the installation we designed to guide Pordenone toward its year as the Italian Capital of Culture 2027.

An interactive, luminous orange steel landmark that engages passersby through continuous graphic and sound loops. It turns public space into a collective, welcoming home, transforming a brief pause in the city into a moment of shared interaction.

Drawing from the overarching concept “Città che sorprende”, this installation anticipates our complete identity, wayfinding, and graphic urban design system that will dress the city starting in 2027.

Migliore+Servetto joins the curatorial team of the third edition of , with a session curated by our Ico Migliore dedicated to Boundaries and Divergences.

The session explores the concept of mutation, viewed not as an erasure, but as an act of overwriting what already exists: memory remains, transforming and opening up to new possibilities and visions. Driven by an attitude of listening, design interacts with the place to qualitatively alter its conditions, turning physical, natural, and digital boundaries into permeable spaces of exchange.

Guided by Ico Migliore’s orientative map, the reflection unfolds through a continuous negotiation between place and time. This open framework gives rise to four divergent research paths bridging Italy and Asia:

_ Hidemi Nishida Hidemi Nishida | “fragile chairs”: Environmental installations making the invisible tangible and exploring the fragile bond between humans and the landscape.
_ Sergio Maggioni neunau Sergio Maggioni | “Fonetica Glaciale”: The sounds of the Adamello glacier turn into a physical experience and bodily knowledge of environmental transformation.
_ Atelier dell’Errore | “The Fairy Queen”: Neurodivergence and the idea of “error” as generative possibilities and collective creative power.
_ Byoung Soo Cho | “Selection of Architectural Projects”: Architecture as stratification, continuity, and an ongoing negotiation with time and imperfection.

JOSHIBI WORKSHOP 2026 | MEET ACROSS AGES

A few weeks have passed since we concluded another successful edition of our creative exchange with 女子美術大学・女子美術大学短期大学部(公式).

Welcoming a new group of students from Tokyo to Milan, our studio’s long-standing commitment to international workshops returns with this year’s theme: “MEET ACROSS AGES: Design as a tool to foster intergenerational encounter”.

Led by Mara Servetto (Visiting Professor at Joshibi since 2009), the workshop invited students to use design as a bridge between generations.

Taking Marunouchi Tokyo Station Square as their canvas, participants explored how urban interventions can shape human behavior, promote healing, and build a more human-centered future city.

Honored to continue empowering the next generation of women designers.
