Stetel is at the forefront of implementing EUDI credential acceptance by one of our international customers; let’s review the EUDI Wallet status in Europe and Italy together.

Under the EU’s eIDAS 2.0 framework, all 27 Member States are legally required to provide a free EUDI Digital Identity Wallet to every citizen by late 2026.

Italy is already leading the charge with IT-Wallet! Italian citizens can already load and use legally valid digital versions of their driving license, health card and disability card. Digital residency certificates, university degrees, and tax forms (ISEE) are rolling in as backend protocols switch to full cross-border European standards (W3C & OpenID).

By 2027, banks, telecoms, and travel providers across Europe will be required to accept your digital wallet for instant onboarding and free digital signatures.
