In occasione della Giornata Internazionale della donna ho deciso di condividere questa breve storia illustrata/a fumetti che ho realizzato per il volume antologico “Bloom” della collana Lökdown di LÖK ZINE. Ho affrontato il tema della “fioritura”, alla base dell’antologia di cui sopra, sfruttando la stereotipica e per me odiosa connessione del mondo floreale con il femminile in generale e in particolare con tutto ciò che ha a che fare con l’apparato riproduttivo femminile e il suo sviluppo. Le rose e le loro spine rappresentano una patologia ovarica e il dolore che ne deriva andando a dipingere un’immagine tanto bella quanto violenta più ci si sofferma a osservarla. Per chi si avventura a leggere anche i testi, un commento sulla sottovalutazione sistemica del dolore delle donne e delle conseguenze più o meno gravi alle quali questo può portare.
I decided to share this comic/illustration series for this year’s international woman day. It’s part of the anthology “bloom” by LÖK ZINE. I interpreted the theme of “blooming” by depicting the stereotypical and (to me) insufferable association of flowers with the feminine in general and with the female reproductive system and its development in particular. The roses and the thorns represent an ovarian pathology and the pain that stems from it, the beautiful image is also clearly very violent the longer you look at it. In the text a comment on the systemic dismissal of pain in women and the consequences it has.
