WHAT IF BRIAN MAY’S CLAWS… WERE MADE OF STEEL? 🥢⚡️

I’m Going Slightly Mad — Queen.

Brian May played this part with those crazy long “claws” in the original video.

I didn’t have the claws.

So… I grabbed two steel sushi chopsticks instead. 😂

Same madness.
Different weapons. Including my Mr. Deaky pedal with Rock You Treble Booster.

And somehow… it works. 🤘

I’m going slightly mad… and I’m perfectly fine with it.

What if Brian May had added a second guitar harmony to the 1986 live version of “In the Lap of the Gods… Revisited”?

I’ve always loved this solo from the legendary Wembley performance, so I decided to imagine how it might sound with another guitar answering and harmonizing with Brian’s original line.

Just a little “what if” experiment… 🎸✨

No intention of changing the original — just playing with an idea and paying tribute to one of those magical Queen moments.

What do you think? ❤️

WHAT IF… Brian May had played this solo instead? 🎸

One of my favourite “what if” experiments.

In the original One Year of Love, the spotlight belongs to the saxophone. But what if Brian May had followed the melody with his Red Special instead?

I tried to imagine how that moment might have sounded — keeping the spirit of the original song, but replacing the sax with a singing guitar solo and layered harmonies.

🎸 Rock You Treble Booster → the Brian May-style foundation
🎸 Kensington → lead guitar
🎸 Mr. Deaky → guitar orchestrations

Not trying to rewrite the original… just wondering:

What if Brian had followed this one? ❤️

Some solos are more than just notes.

“It’s a Hard Life” has always been one of those songs for me. Every bend, every harmony, every phrase carries an emotion that’s impossible to fake. Recording this was my way of paying tribute to one of my favorite Queen songs.

For the lead guitar, I used my Kensington Custom, featuring an integrated Treble Booster designed to capture that unmistakable singing sustain and touch sensitivity. For the layered guitar orchestrations, the Mr. Deaky helped recreate those rich, unmistakable harmonies inspired by the legendary Deacy-style sound.

As a pedal builder, there’s nothing more rewarding than hearing the circuits I design become part of the music that inspired me to start this journey in the first place.

If you’re chasing those iconic British tones, I hope this video gives you a taste of what’s possible.

🎸 Which Queen solo should I play next?
