many of you have written to me asking for help in differentiating between copper and .
I'm here to answer that and explain how you can distinguish them.
For first,
what is CCA wire or cable?
pay attention to this tip: CCA and produced only for use in
standard network and telephone cables must produce in class mean Copper Clad Copper.
but for reducing costs In some applications, CCA (Acronym of Copper Clad ) and CCS (Copper Clad ) produced.
you as a buyer have to be careful because some dealers would sell CCA cables instead of CCC cables.
But you can Validate the products with simple methods following next:
First method is scratching:
A network cable contains 8 colorful insulated wire.
if you Remove the insulation and scratch the surface of the conductor if another material appears in the core of the string, the cable isn't CCC.
CCC is made entirely from copper
But CCA cable contains an aluminum core covered with a Copper layer.
So in appearance, both CCA and Copper cables are similar. Don’t worry. by the test, you can diagnose them.
second method is breaking:
when you try to Bending, breaking, and tilting strings, they should not break down. if under stress, strings were broken, you can sure that the cable is CCA or CCS.
This kind of cables, maybe damaged and cut during operations and patch-cords, It also has a high resistance and heats up easily.
so using CCA cables for general or long-distance use, is dangerous and will cause you trouble.
third method is heating:
applying a flame on unsheathed strings. then you will see that CCA cables, become powder due to the flame.
But the copper strings turn only Hot and red.
every time you can get validation and assessment services of Inspection companies in customs. but yourself as an AEO even can randomly test consignee.
It does not matter what is written on the packaging.
just test.
