History Main article: History of mathematics The evolution of mathematics might be seen to be an ever-increasing series of abstractions, or alternatively an expansion of subject matter. The first abstraction was probably that of numbers. The realization that two apples and two oranges have something in common, namely that they fill the hands of exactly one person, was a breakthrough in human thought. In addition to recognizing how to count concrete objects, prehistoric peoples also recognized how to count abstract quantities, like time -- days, seasons, years. Arithmetic (e.g., addition, subtraction, multiplication and division), naturally followed. Monolithic monuments testify to a knowledge of geometry. Further steps need writing or some other system for recording numbers such as tallies or the knotted strings called khipu used by the Inca empire to store numerical data. Numeral systems have been many and diverse. From the beginnings of recorded history, the major disciplines within mathematics arose out of the need to do calculations on taxation and commerce, to understand the relationships among numbers, to measure land, and to predict astronomical events. These needs can be roughly related to the broad subdivision of mathematics, into the studies of quantity, structure, space, and change. Mathematics since has been much extended, and there has been a fruitful interaction between mathematics and science, to the benefit of both. Mathematical discoveries have been made throughout history and continue to be made today. According to Mikhail B. Sevryuk, in the January 2006 issue of the Bulletin of the American Mathematical Society, "The number of papers and books included in the Mathematical Reviews database since 1940 (the first year of operation of MR) is now more than 1.9 million, and more than 75 thousand items are added to the database each year. The overwhelming majority of works in this ocean contain new mathematical theorems and their proof."

प्रेमचंद (३१ जुलाई, १८८० - ८ अक्टूबर १९३६) हिन्दी और उर्दू के महानतम भारतीय लेखकों में से एक हैं। मूल नाम धनपत राय श्रीवास्तव वाले प्रेमचंद कोनवाब राय और मुंशी प्रेमचंद के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। उपन्यास के क्षेत्र में उनके योगदान को देखकर बंगाल के विख्यात उपन्यासकार शरतचंद्र चट्टोपाध्याय ने उन्हें उपन्यास सम्राट कहकर संबोधित किया था। प्रेमचंद ने हिन्दी कहानी और उपन्यास की एक ऐसी परंपरा का विकास किया जिसने पूरी सदी के साहित्य का मार्गदर्शन किया। आगामी एक पूरी पीढ़ी को गहराई तक प्रभावित कर प्रेमचंद ने साहित्य की यथार्थवादी परंपरा की नींव रखी। उनका लेखन हिन्दी साहित्य की एक ऐसी विरासत है जिसके बिना हिन्दी के विकास का अध्ययन अधूरा होगा। वे एक संवेदनशील लेखक, सचेत नागरिक, कुशल वक्ता तथा सुधी (विद्वान) संपादक थे। बीसवीं शती के पूर्वार्द्ध में, जब हिन्दी में की तकनीकी सुविधाओं का अभाव था, उनका योगदान अतुलनीय है। प्रेमचंद के बाद जिन लोगों ने साहित्य को सामाजिक सरोकारों और प्रगतिशील मूल्यों के साथ आगे बढ़ाने का काम किया, उनमें यशपाल से लेकर मुक्तिबोध तक शामिल हैं।
जीवन परिचय[संपादित करें]
प्रेमचंद का जन्म ३१ जुलाई १८८० को वाराणसी के निकट लमही गाँव में हुआ था। उनकी माता का नाम आनन्दी देवी था तथा पिता मुंशी अजायबराय लमही में डाकमुंशी थे। उनकी शिक्षा का आरंभ उर्दू, फारसी से हुआ और जीवनयापन का अध्यापन से पढ़ने का शौक उन्हें बचपन से ही लग गया। 13 साल की उम्र में ही उन्होंने तिलिस्म-ए-होशरुबा पढ़ लिया और उन्होंने उर्दू के मशहूर रचनाकार रतननाथ 'शरसार', मिरजा रुसबा और मौलाना शरर के उपन्यासों से परिचय प्राप्त कर लिया। १८९८ में मैट्रिक की परीक्षा उत्तीर्ण करने के बाद वे एक स्थानीय विद्यालय में शिक्षक नियुक्त हो गए। नौकरी के साथ ही उन्होंने पढ़ाई जारी रखी १९१० में उन्होंने अंग्रेजी, दर्शन, फारसी और इतिहास लेकर इंटर पास किया और १९१९ में बी.ए. पास करने के बाद शिक्षा विभाग के इंस्पेक्टर पद पर नियुक्त हुए।
सात वर्ष की अवस्था में उनकी माता तथा चौदह वर्ष की अवस्था में पिता का देहान्त हो जाने के कारण उनका प्रारंभिक जीवन संघर्षमय रहा। उनका पहला विवाह उन दिनों की परंपरा के अनुसार पंद्रह साल की उम्र में हुआ जो सफल नहीं रहा। वे आर्य समाज से प्रभावित रहे, जो उस समय का बहुत बड़ा धार्मिक और सामाजिक आंदोलन था। उन्होंने विधवा-विवाह का समर्थन किया और १९०६ में दूसरा विवाह अपनी प्रगतिशील परंपरा के अनुरूप बाल-विधवा शिवरानी देवी से किया। उनकी तीन संताने हुईं- श्रीपत राय, अमृत राय और कमला देवी श्रीवास्तव। १९१० में उनकी रचना सोजे-वतन (राष्ट्र का विलाप) के लिए हमीरपुर के जिला कलेक्टर ने तलब किया और उन पर जनता को भड़काने का आरोप लगाया। सोजे-वतन की सभी प्रतियाँ जब्त कर नष्ट कर दी गईं। कलेक्टर ने नवाबराय को हिदायत दी कि अब वे कुछ भी नहीं लिखेंगे, यदि लिखा तो जेल भेज दिया जाएगा। इस समय तक प्रेमचंद, धनपत राय नाम से लिखते थे। उर्दू में प्रकाशित होने वाली ज़माना पत्रिका के सम्पादक और उनके अजीज दोस्त मुंशी दयानारायण निगम ने उन्हें प्रेमचंद नाम से लिखने की सलाह दी। इसके बाद वे प्रेमचन्द के नाम से लिखने लगे। उन्होंने आरंभिक लेखन ज़माना पत्रिका में ही किया। जीवन के अंतिम दिनों में वे गंभीर रुप से बीमार पड़े। उनका उपन्यास मंगलसूत्र पूरा नहीं हो सका और लम्बी बीमारी के बाद ८ अक्टूबर १९३६ को उनका निधन हो गया। उनका अंतिम उपन्यास मंगल सूत्र उनके पुत्र अमृत ने पूरा किया।

पढ़ाई और परीक्षा के टिप्स :
अगर आपको Exam में अच्छे Marks लाने हैं तो आपको पढ़ाई के लिए एक Routine बनना होगा और उसे Strictly Follow करना होगा.
और आपको ये Routine, Exam के समय नहीं बनाना चाहिए. बल्कि पहले हीं बना लेना चाहिए और उसे फॉलो करना चाहिए.
और अगर आप Class पहले या दूसरे स्थान पर आते हैं तो अपने Percentage बढ़ाने के लिए आपको गहन अध्ययन की जरुरत होगी.
आपको अच्छे Writers की किताबें पढ़नी चाहिए. जिसमें विश्वसनीय तथ्य दिए हुए हों.
आपको अपना एक अच्छा सा Notes तैयार करना चाहिए. ताकि Exam के समय आप महत्वपूर्ण तथ्यों को आसानी से एक नजर में देख सकें. पूरी किताब पलटने की जरुरत न पड़े.


आपने जो भी पढ़ा है उसे बार-बार लिख कर दोहराते रहें.
हर दिन पढ़ने के अलावा मनोरंजन के लिए भी पर्याप्त समय दें.
याद रखें जितनी भी देर पढ़ें एकाग्रता से पढ़ें. क्योंकि एकाग्रता के बिना ज्यादा सफलता नहीं पाई जा सकती है.
परीक्षा के नाम से न डरें. परीक्षा
पर्याप्त नींद लें. पर्याप्त नींद लिए बिना आप कोई भी काम अच्छे से नहीं कर सकते हैं. खास तौर पर पढ़ाई के लिए अच्छी नींद बहुत जरूरी है.
Exam Hall में हमेशा समय से पहले पहुंचें. ताकि आप समय से परीक्षा लिखना शुरू कर सकें.
परीक्षा में पहले उन प्रश्नों को बनाएँ जिन्हें आप अच्छे से जानते हैं. Hard Questions को बाद में बनाएँ.
परीक्षा से पहले ऐसी Gossip न करें, जिससे आपको अनावश्यक रूप से तनाव हो जाए.
क्योंकि आप विधार्थी हैं इसलिए आपको विद्यार्थी की तरह हीं संयमित जीवन व्यतीत करना चाहिए. तभी आप एक सफल विधार्थी बन सकते हैं और जीवन में सफलता पा सकते हैं.
और याद रखें आज की तारीख में खुद को हर दिन Update करते रहना बहुत हीं ज्यादा जरूरी है.
