Google Announces Android Game SDK

Recently, Google launched an Android Game SDK, which is a set of libraries that game-developers can use to enhance their Android game.

Google said that the first library launched in the Android Game SDK will help developers with frame pacing, the synchronization of a game's rendering loop with the OS display subsystem and underlying display hardware.

Android Game SDK comes with the Frame Pacing library, which uses Android's Choreographer API for synchronization with the display subsystem. It uses presentation timestamp extensions on OpenGL and Vulkan APIs in order to make sure that frames are presented at the proper time. It also makes use of sync fences to avoid buffer stuffing.

According to the company, the Frame Pacing library is built into Unity versions 2019.2 and beyond. You just need to select the optimized Frame Pacing checkbox under Android Settings to enable smoother frame rates for your game.

Moreover, in case you have source to your game engine, it's very handy to integrate the library into your OpenGL or Vulkan renderer. Google has added library binaries for download at developer.android.com/games/sdk/. You can also download the source code from the Android Open Source Project.

A new version of Angular, Angular 4.2 is now available. Along with this, the Angular team has also announced a new look for angular.io website.

The official blog states that there are no breaking changes in this new version, the team has adopted the semantic versioning of Angular as announced in October last year. The little improvements, mentioned in official announcement, are mentioned below -
Angular Forms now includes validators for min and max attributes
You can now bootstrap a component directly by passing an element reference to the bootstrap method of an ApplicationRef
Improved i18n tooling including MissingTranslationStrategy and location notes in xliff2 files
We've begun laying the foundation for testing AOT components, which will become possible in a future release
New compiler flag alwaysCompileGeneratedCode is available opt-in, and will be turned on by default in the future.

Visual Studio 2017 Version 15.3 Preview download is available now. The news was announced by Visual Studio team via a blog post.

Some of the improvements and fixes in this release include
Continuous Delivery Tools can now automatically build and deploy NET or ASP.NET Core projects to Azure Web App Services. This means that developers can create and configure a CI Build Definition and a Release Definition for their solution on Visual Studio Team Services without leaving the Visual Studio IDE.
Increased visibility on extensions’ impact on Visual Studio reliability. Visual Studio has a rich ecosystem of tools and extensions that provide useful functionality to developers. But sometimes, extensions’ interactions with Visual Studio can have bugs. We already provide some diagnostics via an infobar that lets you know if an extension is slowing things down. Now, the diagnostic system has been extended to let you know if an extension may have been involved if ever VS terminates unexpectedly.
Lightweight solution load (LSL) has been extended to large C++ solutions, which means that these types of projects will load faster. ...
