Good Friday is observed as a day of solemnity and repentance.

According to the New Testament, on this day, Jesus faced crucifixion at the hands of the Romans. Jesus was accused of blasphemy for proclaiming himself as the Son of God, leading to his condemnation. The Jewish religious leaders, displeased by Jesus' claims, brought him to the Romans, and the Roman leader, Pontius Pilate, ordered his crucifixion.

As per stories, one of his disciples Judas made him arrested by the Roman soldiers and received 30 pieces of silver as a token of gratitude. He informed the Roman guards that the one he kisses is Jesus, leading to his arrest. The renowned painting "The Judas Kiss" by artist Gustave Doré in 1866 was inspired by this event.

On the day of crucifixion, Jesus bore the cross to the ex*****on site known as the place of the skull or Calvary in Latin. Nails were driven into his wrists and feet as he was affixed to the cross he carried. He remained in that position on the cross until his passing.

Ram Navami is recorded in Rama recitals, particularly in Ramayana, one of Hinduism's two esteemed Sanskrit epics. This narrative, also known as Vratha Katha, details King Dasharatha and his consorts - Kaushalya, Kaikeyi, and Sumitra - enactment of the Putra Kameshti Yagam under Rishi Vashisht's counsel. This occurred when none of Dasharatha's wives could conceive an heir. Following the Yagna, the queens were served kheer, blessed by Yajna, the Lord of Yagna. The consumption of this kheer led to the conception of Rama by Queen Kaushalya on the ninth day of the Chaitra month. Bharat, Lakshman, and Shatrughan were born to the other queens.

Rama relinquished his rightful position as Ayodhya's heir due to King Dasharatha's promise to his third wife, Kaikeyi. However, upon returning from his 14-year exile, Rama assumed rulership and governed justly, earning love and respect from his subjects.

Cheti Chand is commemorated as the birth anniversary of Ishtadeva Uderolal, also recognized as Jhulelal. In accordance with tradition, Sindhis hold that Uderolal came into being in 1007 after beseeching the Hindu deity Varun Devon. They entreated the Lord on the shores of the River Indus to deliver them from persecution by the Muslim ruler Mirkshah. It is believed that the River God informed the populace that a divine infant would be born in Nasarpur, who later became known as Saint Jhulelal, and he would liberate them from the despot.

Sindhis observe Cheti Chand by beseeching the God of water for safeguarding against coerced conversions. The festival is distinguished by fasting, making offerings, and offering prayers to the God of water. Individuals engage in worship near aquatic bodies such as rivers, lakes, and ponds, by kindling Jyot Jagan (a lamp fashioned from wheat flour with five wicks) and presenting Behrana Sahib, a tribute consisting of an oil lamp, cardamom, sugar, fruits, and Akho. The Behrana Sahib is submerged in the water, and Pallav hymns are sung to receive blessings from the Lord.

According to legend, Hiranyakashipu was granted a boon making him nearly invincible—he could not be killed by a man or any creature, neither inside nor outside, neither by day nor night, and neither by any weapon. His arrogance led him to demand worship from all, but his own son, Prahlad, remained devoted to Lord Vishnu. Enraged, Hiranyakashipu ordered his sister Holika to kill Prahlad by sitting with him on a pyre, protected by a flame-resistant shawl. However, divine intervention reversed their fates—strong winds blew the shawl onto Prahlad, saving him while Holika perished in the flames. This event is commemorated through Holika Dahan on the eve of Holi.

In the tale, Tarakasura, a demon whose dominance over the world had begun to grow. When he learned of Shiva's ascetic meditation, his power grew without fear, because no one could kill him unless he was born to Shiva and Parvati. After so much discussion among all the Gods, Lord Indra decided to summon kamdev. Goddess Parvati sought K**a Deva's assistance to awaken Shiva from deep meditation. Following Parvati's request, K**a Deva employed a bow crafted from sugarcane and directed an arrow of flowers at Shiva, aiming to divert his attention towards the materialistic world.

However, this action provoked Lord Shiva, prompting him to open his third eye and reduce K**a Deva to ashes. Subsequently, Rati, K**a Deva's consort, undertook intense penance and implored Lord Shiva for blessings to revive her husband's life. In essence, this event signifies Shiva's transition from a state of Vairagya (dispassion) to Grihastha (householder).
