Quality Assurance - Automation Testing

Responsibilities:
• Understand new and existing requirements and expected user experience/flows for multiple retail training products that can be translated into automated test scripts
• Design and develop test scripts that can be executed to validate acceptance criteria
• Identify necessary test data to support test conditions and cases
• Work with QA Manager, Product Owners and teammates to plan and prioritize test requirements
• Participate in planning, review and technical demonstration meetings
• Report on testing progress and roadblocks
• Spotting bugs and defects and tracking down their root cause or their trigger
• Identify areas of improvement in the QA process
Required Skills:
• Knowledge of programming language(s) commonly required for automation technologies (preferably experience programming with Java)
• Experience using testing frameworks such as TestNG and Cucumber
• Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON and XML
• Experience using Selenium WebDriver (more specifically using Selenium Grid)
• Experience using Design Patterns and Anti-Patterns like the Page Object Model
• Experience setting up Continuous Testing in a Continuous Integration and Development cycle
• Ability to architect and build a functioning test automation framework and incorporate it into a CI/CD pipeline
• Solid understanding of the SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) and the STLC (Software Testing Lifecycle)
• Experience with Load Testing tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, LoadUI
• Experience with build server tools such as Bamboo or Jenkins
• Experience with Source Control Management software such as git and BitBucket
• This is a role which requires the applicant to speak publicly in front of many people from time to time
Nice to Have Skills:
• Prefer a candidate with strong debugging skills
• Experience training employees to script tests, identify bugs and defects, and adopt best practices
• Experience writing technical documents for training and maintenance purposes
• Passionate and driven to learn more about their trade
• Leadership experience in software development / software testing
