Intex has launched the Aqua Style, a new Android smartphone in the Aqua series with a 5.9-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display. Micromax Funbook P600, the company's latest Android tablet is now available from online retailer Snapdeal. Most of the features are similar to the Micromax Funbook Talk (P350) that was launched last year including a 7-inch capacitive touch screen display and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), but this one is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon (MSM8225A) processor instead of 1 GHz Allwinner A10 processor in the P350. It has a 2MP camera at the back and a front-facing camera. It also has voice calling and 3G support. No details about the display resolution or the battery capacity yet. This would compete with the other 7-inch 3G Voice calling tablets, the Byond Mi-book Mi7, the Zen UltraTab A700 and the HCL ME Tablet Y3 that were launched in India in recent months. Micromax A116 Canvas HD sales top 9000 units in first 24 hours.
Micromax has announced that they have sold 9000 units of the A116 Canvas HD in the first 24 hours after it went on sale at midnight of 14 February 2013. The company is currently taking pre-bookings for the device at the rate of 25 units per minute. Micromax unveiled the A116 Canvas HD with a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display and a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor last month. They announced that it would go on sale on February 14th and revealed the price one day before it went on sale.

According to the data that Micromax received from Snapdeal.com, the first lot of the Canvas HD was sold out within 15 minutes when the sales started midnight, second lot of 300 units sold out within 15 minutes of the sale at 09:00 am and the third lot of 1200 phones was sold in 45 minutes when the sale began at noon on 14th.

60% of the orders they received online have come from the metros. Micromax expects it to reach new high in the coming weeks since it would be available at all leading retail stores across India.

The Micromax A116 Canvas HD is priced at Rs. 13,990 and is available for pre-order through Snapdeal, which would be shipped in 20 business days.
