With names of all the Wild Cats exhausted, Apple names its latest OS X as 'MAVERICKS' named after a famous California surfing spot. Tim Cook, CEO of Apple Inc., also launched iOS 7 and termed the changes to it as “the biggest change to iOS since the introduction of the iPhone.”
The new features of iOS 7 are:
-Multi-tasking for every app, so that your apps can run easily in the background of iOS, and new previews of every app you have running
-Safari: Safari is upgraded and rebuilt, with parental controls, a new tab view and a 'full screen' interface
-Control Centre: swipe up from the home screen to access basic settings such as Bluetooth, Airplay, brightness and the camera
-Airdrop: an easy way to share files with people around you, or your Mac
-Camera: totally redesigned camera app including live photofilters
-Photos: the new app can organise your photos automatically into 'moments' based on location and content
-Siri: a brand new interface for Siri, a new voice (male and female) and new features including integration with brightness, vague Wikipedia (and Bing) searches, voicemail and Twitter
-Car integration: iOS 7 can now work with several car brands and integration searching, Siri and music into your car's interface
-App Store - searching by age range, 'Apps near me' searches, automatic updates
-Music: new designs for the Now Playing and album view
-Activation Lock: now once you wipe your lost device it won't turn back on unless the person with it knows your Apple ID and password
Some of the new features of OS X Mavericks include
-iBooks: OS X Mavericks begins a new chapter in the iBooks story. Already read books downloaded on iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch will automatically appear in iBooks on Mac
-Maps: The Maps app lets every pixel of the display to explore new destinations, and it takes full advantage of the graphics power of a Mac. So zooming is incredibly smooth and responsive.
-Calendar: Calendar is streamlined with a fresh new look and powerful features to go with it.
-iCloud Keychain: It stores website user names and passwords on the approved devices , protects them with robust AES 256-bit encryption, and keeps them up to date on each device.
-Tag: Tags are a powerful new way to organize and find your files, even documents stored in iCloud.
